"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.

Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night.
DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day smile smile smile smile

Gerry Cross the Mersey was a great show, but far too short. I last saw them in the early 80s in Skegness, on the same bill as the Hollies. It was well worth the long wait, and good to see him back to good health again.

DH and I celebrated our Sapphire wedding anniversary quietly at home with a bottle of our favourite pink champagne. Sorted a lifetime's photographs and packed them into boxes, happy memories smile

Congratulations on 45 years of marriage, harri and Mr Harri. And many more happy years to you both. wine

Oldgreymare Mon 15-Oct-12 09:19:06

Happy Anniversary Harri, I let that one pass by, does that mean I missed the opportunity to acquire a large saphire? hmm

kittylester Mon 15-Oct-12 09:35:47

Congratulations harri and Mr harri flowers

Yesterday I saw Bertie for the first time in a fortnight as he went on honeymoon with his mummy and daddy confused. While he was away he learnt to crawl at 100 mph and to giggle. Baby giggling is seriously infectious grin

Ella46 Mon 15-Oct-12 10:18:45

Congratulations Harri and hubby, flowers

harrigran Mon 15-Oct-12 10:20:08

No I didn't get a sapphire for this anniversary, I got a 4 carat sapphire ring on our ruby anniversary because I already had rubies. We had a wander into Jo Malone last week and he bought me a bottle of Pomegranate noir and I bought him Chanel Bleu.
Thank you all for kind wishes. I wish I could slow the clock down a little smile

soop Mon 15-Oct-12 11:57:05

flowers sunshine cupcake wine smile to Mr and Mrs Harri. Have a very, very, very happy anniversary. xx

Gally Mon 15-Oct-12 12:28:16

Harri Congratulations to you and Mr.Harri 45 years - wow!
Sadly Mr.G and I only just got to 38 years, so no rubies for me!!
I woke up this morning feeling fine, went to see the accountant about my tax return, then on to Asda where, in the childrens' clothes dept. I started sneezing - at least 25x on the trot and now I am home I have a full blown cold - how on earth could that happen so quickly? I really don't get it. confused

Marelli Mon 15-Oct-12 13:31:34

Oh Gally, your marriage was a 'price above rubies'. flowers.
Horrible colds all over the place just now - also maybe you should've checked out Asda's for the flu jag while you were there? It's that time again.

Marelli Mon 15-Oct-12 13:32:28

Harrigran - a very happy anniversary for yesterday. wine flowers

grannyactivist Mon 15-Oct-12 13:39:09

Harri flowers
Gally - oh dear, poor you. I recommend that you put your feet up, read the paper, cruise the net and swig copious amounts of honey and lemon. Dig out something from the freezer so you don't have to cook. Hope you're feeling better soon. flowers
Kitty I know what you mean about baby giggles grin Lovely.

jeni Mon 15-Oct-12 16:11:41

Congratulations harri

I've just come home in the middle of the afternoon session because I'm vomiting+++!
I have a Dutch lady staying with me. Help!

nanaej Mon 15-Oct-12 16:25:41

Congrats to Harri and Mr H.
I did something I have never done before. I bought a hat (beret style) from a proper hat shop then had a long lunch in town. Good day! smile

grannyactivist Mon 15-Oct-12 17:08:37

Jeni - perhaps you have an allergy to entertaining, or Dutch people? wink
I do hope you're soon on the mend.flowers

soop Mon 15-Oct-12 17:12:08

jeni The Dutch lady will need to help you. Take yourself off to bed...or at least put your feet up and relax. I hope that you're not sickening for something as nasty as the tummy bug that is doing the rounds. Get well soon. brew smile

soop Mon 15-Oct-12 17:17:53

Mr soop and I have had the flu jab. Rory waiting on the doorstep, making wimpish half-strangled mewing sounds, which when translated mean...where've you been...I've been here ages...feed me...*like now!*

Butternut Mon 15-Oct-12 17:27:09

Oh Jeni - get well soon. Don't even think about cooking this evening. Nothing worse than having a stranger around when you're feeling poorly, is there!
