"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.

Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night.
DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day smile smile smile smile

Just remembered that I hadn`t checked last Saturday`s lottery tickets, then realised I`d thrown them in the bin, rooted them out, checked them...............a big, fat, NOTHING!!

I know that mail deliveries have been getting later and later, but my postman has just knocked at 6.30pm. Could this be a record?

Went to cinema; film had sold out; came home sad....

glassortwo Wed 24-Oct-12 19:25:39

Sending flowers and {{{hugs}}} to all of you who are having a terrible time today.
I have had a poorly little GS again today.

Grannylin Wed 24-Oct-12 19:25:42

Was it Anna Karenina? Our Arts Centre has sold out except for the Mum and baby session...no,no,no!

Marelli Wed 24-Oct-12 19:32:45

How is he glass? I must have missed your post about him not being well - sorry.

crimson Wed 24-Oct-12 19:51:58

No; it was Untouchable; got tickets for tomorrow [last night it's on]. Anna Karenina was disappointing, albeit slightly interesting in a quirky sort of way.

glassortwo Wed 24-Oct-12 20:07:22

marelli I dont think I mentioned him being ill smile I had to bring him home from the Harvest Festival at school on Friday vomiting, he recovered then last night in the middle of the night he started again but this time he has a temperature so probably a virus, he has never moved today so you know they are ill when they just lay around.

Marelli Wed 24-Oct-12 20:26:33

I know, glass - it's like that advert (is it for Calpol or something?) where it says, '...they've all been feeling a little poorly lately...' then you see all the children being really naughty when they're better - I really do like that advert!
Hope the wee lad feels better soon. smile

glassortwo Wed 24-Oct-12 20:30:44

I hope they are not listening but I prefer the naughty, noisy DGC when they are in to everything.

Marelli Wed 24-Oct-12 20:32:05

Much more normal, glass! wink

Grannylin Wed 24-Oct-12 22:48:44

crimson Wed 24-Oct-12 22:54:43

Off to Lille in an hour's time - a much longer drive from here than it was from Kent. Still some lovely meals in lovely restaurants to come, and lovely friends to meet. A bientot!

Gally Thu 25-Oct-12 09:27:09

Grannylin - I saw it - isn't Alison Steadman brilliant! Perhaps it will be on i-player?
Just off to St. Andrew's for the day - come on sun, shine sunshine

whenim64 Thu 25-Oct-12 09:36:05

I caught the last few minutes and it looked riveting. Must find it on iPlayer.

Ella46 Thu 25-Oct-12 10:01:41

glass it sounds like Norovirus which my baby gd has at the moment. Poor little thing has a cough, an ear infection, watery diarrhoea,a rash and she is teething!
I'm looking after her again tomorrow so lots of cuddles smile
This is the second week now, so hopefully she will be better soon.

whitewave Thu 25-Oct-12 11:20:05

ella46 I do hope the babe is recovering 2 weeks seems a long time to be so poorly?

Still they do bounce back quickly once well don't they?

Pleased to read about Alison Steadman - I must watch that - I do think that she is a great actress.

Ella46 Thu 25-Oct-12 16:09:30

whitewave thanks, she has been seen by 3 doctors now, so we are sure that she will recover in the next few days!

Ella46 Thu 25-Oct-12 16:41:09

Just watched Alison Steadman, it was brilliant!

Marelli Thu 25-Oct-12 17:13:03

I'm going to watch Alison Steadman on Catch-up! Thanks Grannylin - I hadn't known about it. Just now I'm watching Getting On - I love it, does no-one else watch it?

Ana Thu 25-Oct-12 17:27:20

What is this Catch-Up? Is it the one where you watch tv programmes on your computer? (Bit behind the times at Ana Towers...blush)

Marelli Thu 25-Oct-12 18:54:33

Ana, have you not got this on your television? BBC i-Player and also ITV player? I'd already seen the Alison Steadman programme, but watched it again - I think she's great!
Someone will be able to tell you if you can access Catch-up, Ana. I have cable TV but you'll have something similar whatever type of provider you have, I think.

Ella46 Thu 25-Oct-12 20:56:35

Ana I watch it on my computer, I only have digital tv.

Ana Thu 25-Oct-12 21:01:14

Thanks, both of you. I'm still confused, but I've Googled it and I can watch on my computer. We have digital tv and Sky, but what is cable? And how would I know if I can access BBCi player & ITV player?
