"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.

Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night.
DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day smile smile smile smile

Her chin could come in handy if she ever loses her pastry brush.

I bought one of those Finishing Touch things today....so that I don't end up like Clarissa DW blush. I do hope it works....hmm

Am really enjoying watching 'the great British food revival' about rabbit but am totally distracted by the long hairs on Clarissa D W's chin grin

Phoned myself on my mobile and nearly died of shock when THE PHONE RANG. Michelle from the Indian Call Centre [who has phoned me twice today, bless her] has sorted it. Or maybe it was going to take a week anyway. Either way, I can phone in and out [but only on one phone] and no sound on the internet but that might be something I've done wrong. Heating engineer who's coming out tomorrow to fix my leak might have a look at my computer perhaps. Oh joy! sunshine

Well, Gary put up a new bird feeder outside my lounge window for me! So while I've been sitting quietly with my feet up, I've also been watching the birds. (Also chasing off the darn squirrel) and no, I'm NOT going to let the old git shoot it!

I played host to a lady from the Cats Protection League this afternoon, and she`s given us the go-ahead to proceed with the adoption of our chosen cat, Mia, just waiting to find out now when we can collect her.

Just stabbed the end of me thumb, trying to get a tight plastic seal off a drum of black pepper, and it flippin` hurts! AND won`t stop bleeding!

Just had a really funny 'conversation' with my 20 month old grandson.Think he has taken and worked out how to use his Mum's mobile- either that a or a very, very, giggly heavy breather has stolen itgrin

Jeni flowers Hope you didn't pass the dreaded lurgy to the Dutch visitor?
My sniffles seem to have abated today, but now have a cracker of a headache - probably spending too long trying to sort out my Tax Return - enough to give anyone a headache wink

Bags Tue 16-Oct-12 12:35:13

Glad you're feeling a bit better, jeni.

jeni Tue 16-Oct-12 12:32:29

Yes thanks. Still a little queasy so not eating today. Sitting with feet up taking it easy. I cancelled today's tribunal as I didn't think I'd be up to it!

nanaej Tue 16-Oct-12 12:00:53

Made Christmas puddings with DH. Complicated by the fact that I forgot to buy suet in the UK (note to Butternut) and we had to buy kidney fat from the butcher and render it, which is smelly and messy.

Butternut Mon 15-Oct-12 19:49:14

Zumba, came home and raked leaves, raked more leaves, cut down tomato plants and chucked them on the compost, raked more leaves. Unearthed cases to start packing for a visit to the land of plenty (UK), ironing, cooked cauliflower cheese, sparodic dips into GN, fresh bedlinen now on the bed, and it'll be an early night. moon zzzzz

Put feet up, spoil selves, read undemanding book and PAMPERbrew if you can.
Jeni you obviously can't take the risk of cooking for your guest, so she will have to do it for you.flowers
Gally it's not the length of the mariage that counts, it's the quality.flowers
