"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.

Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night.
DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day smile smile smile smile

Sounds like we`re all in need of a bit of TLC, so, {flowers} and hugs all round. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I can relate to these posts! Since DD's relationship hit the rocks a couple of years ago, whenever she phones or texts me I just know before I've even picked up or looked that it's because she wants a favour. We used to have a close relationship, but now I feel as though I'm just a convenient child-minder (which is fine by me) or a cash cow!

Funny how they upset us with what we feel is thoughtless communication. DD2's marriage has hit the buffers and we've been supportive but have kept out of it as much as possible as we are very fond of DSIL. Their phone has been out of order for a whole week due to a switch to Virgin which did not go according to plan. DD texted me last night. Was it to reassure me all was well or to inform me the phone was back on? No. It was to suggest I send money for DGD's birthday (which isn't until the end of the month) because, 'she has a list as long as your arm' angry Whatever happened to, 'How are you, Mum?'

Don't take it too harshly glass.Sometimes it just feels as though they are pushing their luck when you are feeling a bit sensitive.Snapped at my daughter on Sunday...long story involving fleas in her house, sleeping and eating at my house for a month, now gone back but we still have her kitten. She happened to say she was planning a week away in November and all I said was ' lucky you, wish I could. Then I got 'we'll you've just been to Edinburgh, blah, blah, blah.Grrrr
angry

No; you're not being unreasonable. Thinking thin end of wedges, I am.

Last week DD and SIL have joined a gym and have said that they will go when the little ones are in bed (bathed at 6 to 6 .30 then straight to bed after a story) would I listen out for them while they were away, yes no problem.

But she has come in at 6.30 tonight and said they have booked their induction for 6.30 next Wednesday and I now feel terrible as I snapped and said well thats a good start, thought you were going when the kids are in bed 1st visit and its all forgotten about, Now I feel unreasonable hmm

Oldgreymare Wed 10-Oct-12 19:48:44

Hugs Number and Crimson and positve vibes too.

Hope your tum is better Soop and good luck with the probing hmm

I've managed to bring Dr.'s App. forward as the one that was THREE weeks away clashed with NO. 2 son's offer of afternoon tea at the Dorchester. I shall go to the Pre- Raph. exhibition first, must organise train tickets.

Today I have been grumbling, tried to do some gardening and got covered in pigeon poo! The blighters roost in a tree, in the field behind, that overhangs the garden. The answer to the age-old question: do pigeons poo in their sleep, is YES angry

phoenix fingers crossed that you hear back sunshine

Anne58 Wed 10-Oct-12 19:37:56

Hugs, cake and glasses of wine to all in need.

Managed to stay away until around noon (as per my request last night!)

Did manage to achieve some of my self alloted tasks, but fell by the wayside a bit when I invited my neighbour (who is going through some problems at the moment) round for coffee and a chat.

However, one of my job applications resulted in a phone call within 20 mins of submission, might have an interview early part of next week!

I have spent the entire day sorting out paperwork so that I can file everything in the new study, my back is breaking with all the stooping. The nice thing is I have found lots of GC pictures that I took down from kitchen walls smile

numberplease Wed 10-Oct-12 18:00:05

jeni Wed 10-Oct-12 17:59:15

((Hugs)) number!

crimson Wed 10-Oct-12 17:55:26

Big hug, number. I'm a bit tearful today as my internet connection and phone line are all over the place, and, if I pay someone to come out it will make it a waste of time changing server to save money. Annoyed with myself for being so stupid sad!

Ariadne Wed 10-Oct-12 17:31:49

number ((( hugs ))) sunshine you are allowed to feel down sometimes, especially after losing an old friend like your Pepper. We understand. xxxx

numberplease Wed 10-Oct-12 17:20:49

Hope you`re soon feeling better Soop.
Just been having a bit of a cry, out of sight of everyone, a combination of feeling put upon, missing Pepper, and my aches and pains getting the better of me. Have given myself a shake, and told me to stop being stupid.

soop Wed 10-Oct-12 13:19:32

Butter Wise words. smile x

Butternut Wed 10-Oct-12 13:17:14

Butternut Wed 10-Oct-12 13:15:50

Should be feeling poor, but am feeling rich ~ oil delivery this morning. Along with the well stocked woodpile, we will be warm this winter. smile

soop Wed 10-Oct-12 12:05:02

Bags Didn't sample one of your home-baked biscuits. Could just do with one now. Coffee time calls for a crunchy "bisquit" and a merry blether. Wish you were here. smile
