crimson yes I saw Countryfile. That is so strange just after I had been talking about ours, the one they showed is a complete bastle ours only has the ground floor still intact with a Georgian upper floor built onto it as they have done on most of them.

Mondays I have Dream Child, by himself, all day. I call him this as he smiles and chatters and clowns his way through the day. He is 2 and 2 months, and new words are just tumbling from him every day. If I don't understand him he mimes it for me. He eats whatever I put in front of him, he goes for his nap without a murmur. He could charm the birds off the trees, he makes me laugh
Tomorrow he comes again, plus his cousins, Wild Child and Drama Queen
Love them all but some are much harder work than others!

Today we`ve made an appointment with the Cats Protection League to go and see a little white cat, with a view to adopting her. I wasn`t going to have another so soon after Pepper, in case he`s looking down and thinking we`ve forgotten him, but hubby wants another, and I`ve gone along with it before he changes his mind. We`re going tomorrow morning, but it`s not a foregone conclusion, we have to have a home visit first.

Maybe you could get a job for a nice private person who you would care for. My MIL has a budget from the council and as long as it is done officially she can spend it on whoever she wants. She now employs her friend to do the cleaning and washing side of things, and a nice small agency for someone to come in first thing while she showers.
(this is a mixed blessing for the person in receipt of the budget as they have to set up a separate bank account, pay NI if applicable etc etc )

marelli just how I feel,the types that where in the "training" where not the people that I would associate with care work,and it was just a means of making money and having a job,I am not saying that they were not decent people,but it was just a job. for me and people who have no choice but to be cared for by people who don't really care one way or anotherxxx

Littlenellie, you are worth much more than that. Please try not to feel 'deflated'. In deciding that the job was not for you, you showed respect for those who have to be cared for by badly trained staff who were employed merely because they had a pulse. 'God' help the poor 'service users'.

Thank you all for your support and kind words,do feel very deflated ,care work in this area is the main type of employment,and with the changes in the care system,a lot more people are going to be cared for at home wether that is through choice or necessity as care homes are full.

One interviewed was employed,and apart from a crb and references it was a case of interview and start tomorrow,as it is the main form of employment people are being forced to and into work that is a job and not a vocation and we were all like cannon fodder feel so sad,will not try that againxxxxlove nellie

Oh I am sorry that you were so misled and agree with all those who say you are well out of it. It doesn't bode well for our ageing population (us!) does it that companies offer no real care provision for the elderly/sick/demented. I can imagine how angry and disappointed you are - {{hug}}

nellie my lovely girl, I've only just caught up with your thread. I'm feeling awful for you. You were so bouyed up when the job came your way. You have a lot to offer. However, what was on offer to you was miserable and misleading. I'm pleased to hear that you resigned. You deserve better. A big warm (hug) from me.
