"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.

Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night.
DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day smile smile smile smile

Can you get jet lag on a flight back from Edinburgh? grin
Arrived back late last night from a wonderful weekend, my first visit to Scotland.
Meeting up with Gally, Marelli & Elegran was wonderful! Thank you all so much for a perfect ending to my Edinburgh weekend. Being waved off as I was driven away on the airport bus was quite emotional ..... bless you all!
I've posted the recipe we discussed for Orange Liqueur, it's under Christmas Recipes.
Why doesn't Gransnet have a section for home made hooch recipes?
I'm still away from home for a few more days, with only sporadic internet access, but am off now to have a GN browse and catch up smile

Greatnan Tue 30-Oct-12 19:56:13

Notso.......envy.....for meeting some special people! I feel as though I have known some members for years, even though we have never met.

Marelli Tue 30-Oct-12 20:36:48

Notso, you made our day very special, believe me! flowers And Greatnan...maybe one day.....and, like you, I feel as if I've known some members for ages, too. Such is the power of Gransnet! smile

Spent the day in Addenbrookes Hospital as mum had another stroke this morning. When I first saw her I thought, This is it! Within a few hours, however she was rallying and getting movement back in her left arm which was badly affected. Her speech is still slurred but the drooping has improved. When I left her she was comfortable but very tired so I will go back in the morning and hopefully be given some more information. She's 94 so who knows which way things will go? Can't just give up on people though can you?

Marelli Tue 30-Oct-12 21:06:50
