What I did today.

kitty, my GC have also had slapped cheek syndrome,a rash on their faces and, yes , they did feel poorly and were definitely in the mood for videos etc; but what exactly is this syndrome, up until this year I have never heard of it or seen it, I can't remember our children having it, or did we call it something else?

Right now I am killing time in case I inadvertently eat something or make a cup of tea. I have a fasting blood test at 8.40 which is far too late for someone who got up at 6 am!

Then it is off to relieve DH who is looking after 2 sick grandchildren. They have Slapped Cheek Syndrome and their mum says they look as though they have been on the bottle all night! Hopefully, they will be in the mood for 'laxing' and watching videos all day!

Just logged in to say that today flowerfriend and I had a nice lunch together sitting outside under plane trees in a beautiful square in the Lot valley, south west France. I think we could have talked all afternoon! Gransnet has a lot to be proud of and new friendships forming is just one example. flower imagine the noise when a group of Gnetters gets together!

There are so many members that I would dearly love to meet - perhaps some of them will take up my invitation to visit me next Spring! I hope to meet absent one day, but it will be 12,000 miles away!

AnaThe whole point of aqua anything is that the water naturally provides resistance to your arms or legs, depending on the exercise, thus gently and more or less painlessly exercising the muscles. However, it is almost impossible to hurt yourself when you are doing this, unlike, say, aerobics that bounce you about in a gym with a resistant floor.

I loved meeting Anno and When but we knew we would get on before we met! I don't think just living close enough to meet means you will necessarily enjoy meeting another member but it is fairly obvious when you are on the same wavelength and obviously you were!
Juragran and I met on an expat forum, and 'clicked' through our posts. It is just good luck that she is also my nearest GN member, albeit in a different country! Well, unless somebody is lurking!

Today I met and had lunch with another GNetter. specki4eyes and I had an enjoyable meal in the sunshine and didn't stop talking. We intend to meet up again in the new year.

I have had my usual idle day - I found a view that was genuinely awe-inspiring, quite close to Jura's house. I drove up a very winding road to a 'balcon' that had a map showing the names and directions of all the mountains. I could see both Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchatel shimmering in the sun, and beyond them the tops of the Mont Blanc Range poking up from under a long, white, cloud. Then I had a two hour walk in a deep forest, and enjoyed the huge range of Autumn colours in the leaves.
Bliss!

I agree, most little boys love anything to do with diggers and earth-movers!

The trouble I find with aqua-anything is that it's so hard to move your legs at any kind of speed underwater. I just can't imagine doing the zumba routine our class does in a swimming pool...

Glad to hear your DH is improving, Butty. That's just the kind of video my (now 7) GS would have loved when he was a bit younger. On the way home from nursery his mum always drove him past the place where the JCBs were parked so that he could 'say goodnight to the diggers'.

Finished clearing the back of the pond - been up to my wellies in the pond all morning - now it has started to rain so retreated back into the house.

I fancy aqua zumba

I've been getting shouty with GNHQ (sorry), so decided I must get out a bit more!

So took my camera off to a spot about 5 miles away where there's a new high-speed rail link being carved out of the landscape , to make a video for my grandson in America. Loads of real life tonka toys - massive earth digging equipment, lorries and other huge machines that I don't know the name of. They drive amazingly fast, lots of lights, all are bright yellow and the earth is deep red. Very exciting and colourful for a little lad - I hope.

Now to upload it - fingers crossed. Will drag not quite so poorly husband from sofa and get some tech. support.

Ana, I plan to hide at the back of the class and work at my own (dead slow) pace.

Aqua Zumba! - I found it hard enough to do Aqua Toning with DD last year....

A few aches remaining, but the weather is foul again. I have been to have a look at a gym that sounded good and am going tomorrow to have a trial of aqua zumba. Fingers crossed that I survive.
