"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.
Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night. DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day
That's good news gracesmum - he will do as he's told if he knows what's good for him Merlot your mum sounds amazing. Tell her all of Gransnet is rooting for her.
I suffer from a total lack of imagination so instead of going to the Hallowe'en party I'm going to do the ironing and listen to Radio 4
I am beginning to see where you get it from.................................
I have "sprung" DH from his temporary incarceration and he is looking and feeling much better. So he had better behave now and we can get on with our lives [bossy]emoticon.
Addenbrookes now seem satisfied that mum had a TIA this time and not a stroke so that's a relief. She is making a good recovery, in fact I knew things were getting back to normal when the nurse said they wanted to do a 'swallow test'. Mum looked at me and said, 'Does this mean they are expecting me to fly south for the winter?' Priceless
Thanks, everyone for your kind wishes. Much appreciated
I went to Durham and had lunch with my friend. Her son has pulmonary hypertension and is also suffering severe pain from arthritis at present, all very distressing on top of her stressful job. We had a delicious meal and a or two, with apologies to glass My DH drove us there and back so we could drink
Wet evening predicted here, so expecting it to be quiet.I quite like to see the little ones in their costumes. i have bought horrid haribo sweets that i will not be tempted to eat myself.
Just hate Halloween - so very fortunate it isn't celebrated around here and we won't have any kids calling. Where we lived in the UK it was dreadful!
Feeling very righteous, as OH and I have spent the whole day on top of step ladders washing all the fly poo off the kitchen ceiling and walls - it's all shining and clean- and it was great to work together.
Had lunch with my friend, then went for nice little swim followed by a session in the steam room - clears the tubes. My rotten shoulder won't let me do more than 200m but I hope to strengthen the muscles gradually and work up to a decent distance. Now gathering my wits for the Halloween coven tonight.
