I wish, specki. I'd be feeling no pain grin

I have a problem with falling out of London taxi cabs. It's something to do with not being able to step down whilst in a crouching position. Even if I sink gracefully on to the pavement everyone thinks I'm pissed a little the worse for wear. My knees are the culprits.....at least that's what I tell everyone. hmm

If they want me to sit in the back, there's a risk of projectile vomiting which is not a good thing..so I get to sit in the front - yesss! Just the two of us?- my DH drives us there and I drive back - can't think why that always happens confused.

Usually driving so that's a no-brainer, but if somebody else's car, DH gets the front seat as he has more difficulty getting in and out so I'm in the back, usually with the other wife. I hate 3 door cars with a passion -getting out is such a contortion!

It's better to let me sit in the front because if I'm in the back we have to stop a lot of times for me to get fresh air or leave unpleasant puddles at the side of the road.

In the front, if I'm not driving, unless the people in the front want me to be 'poorly' down their backs. grin

Always driving.

I am behind the wheel.
My daughter and her son now take turns in the front - at my instigation so no squabbling.....

Behind the wheel if its my car , in the front if its DH's car. I do sit in the back with my SIL if its my brothers car and let the men gossip in the front grin

I think that in a two-door car it is polite to let the oldest, or least agile, passenger sit in the front.

When in Oz with DD's outlaws, we always had to sit in the back - great for seeing the views! 'She' always sits in the front next to him and even in a restaurant, or on the sofa - or anywhere in fact, they have to sit side by side (finger-down-throat emoticon) grin
These days it's always me behind the wheel and everyone else in the back of the 7 seater.

When out with DD and SIL I sit in the front. When out with my sister and BIL I sit with her in the back so she can talk at me. When we are with DS and his family I have to sit at the very back of the seven seater so that I can have one GC beside me.

Mishap grin me too!

Behind the wheel!

goldengirl Sat 06-Oct-12 09:29:18

I've sat in the front if I'm being shown around the town
I've sat in the back with DH for convenience when we've been picked up
I've sat in the back with my cousin whom I'd never met before whilst DH sat in the front with her husband.
It depends on the situation I think

I listened to a light-hearted discussion yesterday about where people sit when two couples travel in the same car. The thinking was:

Working class, both men in the front.
Middle class, owner of car and his wife in the front.
Upper class, owner of car and other wife in the front, his wife in the back with the other man.
