Oh dear! Just been browsing and spotted a purple coat I like the look of, in a well known Department Store. Was thinking of going in there to look for it tomorrow. Should I now think again, Gracesmum? Am not quite ready to look like an old hag!! What do people think?

I am 5'2" on a good day, an out of proportion shape with weight to lose! My clothes always say that about me!

I volunteer in a Charity Shop and can put an outfit together for less than the cost of a latte. Of course I do have an eclectic choice but I do usually manage to find something reasonably 'on trend' and only slightly 'jaded'. You would be amazed what people give away!! Had a pair of new Uggs in last week but they wern't my size (I felt like Cinderellas ugly sister trying to make them fit). I know second hand clothes arn't everyones 'bag' but I do know that Charity Shops are much more discerning about the quality of what they sell now and I for one, get a great deal of satisfaction knowing that not only am I saving money but I'm also giving to charity. Does that make me sad?!!

No, there aren't! Just the 'cardi' ones and they're the wrong size anyway. .

Marelli just a note for you re Ugg's go for the Kensington Black/Brown leather Ugg's they are the only ones that don't loose their shape and they are lined with the merino lamb,or for a really good quality pair but not Ugg's look at JL's own brand I bought DD a pair last year and they still look fab,I actually prefer them to my Kensingtons.

Thanks Marelli, I will go and get the camera and several garments, shoes and so on - I really would like to have more room in my wardrobe.

I've tried to sell a pair like that and no-one went for them - must try again.
I shouldn't be let out! I was making an offer for a 'buy it now' cardi and pressed the wrong button, so I have 'bought it now' - a bit more than I had intended to pay. I won't make that mistake again.

I'm always very careful about what I buy, and have had some really good footwear. I've also sold lots of stuff on Ebay - it's can be quite exciting!

anno the shoes that I buy, are those that have been worn once or twice and found to be the wrong size. I've not been disappointed yet.

I just missed out on a cashmere cardi last night. Kicked myself hard. Keeping an eye on a lovely long one. I don't like the thought of used footwear though.

I got a lovely short cashmere dress yesterday for £4.70 (inc. PP)! It should look nice with leggings and boots!

Yes, you've only got to look at some of the girls wearing last year's Uggs, they seem to have got trodden down at one side or the other.

Ugg boots seem to lose their shape though, so are "used" ones a good idea? There are other brands (OK, so not the label) for a lot less.

I LOVE ebay! At the moment I'm 'watching' a few pairs of Ugg boots. They're all 'used' but will get snapped up very quickly, so I'm hoping to get a decent pair for a good price. I'd seen some in town today for £100, down from £160, but don't want to pay that much, do I!

Dress by Caroline Charles was not a pre-owned, pre-loved item, but actually brand spanking new (reduced from nearly £900 to only £300); green silk 'Precis' jacket (reduced to only £90); shoes (reduced to only £70) and bag (full price @ £40 ) from Jones Bootmaker. My outfit for son's wedding is all similarly priced and all bought in the sales.
However; what my clothes usually say about me is that I've been shopping in the charity shops.
