Lay it on thick anno. The last thing you need is toothache when you're away from home over Christmas. Hope it gets sorted soon flowers

When I was just looking in the freezer to see what shopping might be needed. I took out a bag of frozen split pea soup to have for lunch and put it on the draining board. Bag of soup now firmly frozen to top of draining board.

I will have to rescue it when it gets just a bit warmer or the soup will flow through the probably torn bag onto the floor. (not that my split pea soup tends to flow much).

More mess to clean up.

anno Make sure they do something! I hope its better soon!

Hope they can sort it anno I sometimes think that toothache or earache are possibly the worst pains. If you have a bad back, you can usually find a position that makes the pain bearable, but it doesn't seem to work with teeth or ears!

Yesterday, before meeting up with NW grans I had a dentist's appointment to sort out a twinging tooth. He plugged a chipped tooth with a temporary filling and I thought it was fine. However - it is back with a vengeance. Back on phone to receptionist, dentist not in today. Luckily his partner is in and I have to go again. I do NOT want toothache for Christmas!

Today I reclaimed one of my guest rooms as my Libyan PhD Student has left and may or may not return. I enjoyed his stay, but hosting him was hard work (he needed huge amounts of input from me in terms of helping him with his academic English) and in lots of ways quite challenging. He had an exam on Friday, followed by a doctor's appointment; his return next month is dependant upon the test results from each.

In a few days my youngest son's girlfriend (who is an absolute delight and a joy to be with) and her mother will be joining us instead, so the room won't be empty for long. smile

I most certainly am Butty. I have sung Moondance with a young relative when on holiday one night. Next day, I was greeted at breakfast as CoolGran! grin

Butty Wed 19-Dec-12 23:42:51

Ah - you must be a Van Morrison fan when smile

grannyactivist Wed 19-Dec-12 23:33:48

Butty - well done. Now don't stop! grin (Singing I mean.)

whenim64 Wed 19-Dec-12 23:31:13

Fantastic Butty. You're brave! That's one of my most favourite songs smile

Butty Wed 19-Dec-12 23:20:45

or - which is better - I sang in public......

It's late, it's confusing.....

Night moon

Butty Wed 19-Dec-12 23:19:42

Pedants - I've sung in public.....

Butty Wed 19-Dec-12 23:18:56

First time ever I've sang in public. Sang a duet with vocal/guitarist on Open Mike night this evening - Brown Eyed Girl. First time ever I've sang in public. Fantastic feeling. Still trembling.

Butty Tue 18-Dec-12 18:12:16

Double ouch - poor DD!

annodomini Tue 18-Dec-12 17:50:45

Sympathy to your DD, Bags. I woke up with toothache today and have an appointment with the dentist tomorrow, after our get-together with Greatnan.

jeni Tue 18-Dec-12 17:26:06

Ah! Poor wee thing!

Ana Tue 18-Dec-12 17:17:12

She's braver than I am, Bags! shock Well done that girl!

Bags Tue 18-Dec-12 17:10:41

Finished before Christmas, butty! Good going! wink

DD is not calm and neutral right now. She's in shock, poor thing. It's a bit drastic when your first ever dental treatment (never needed any; orthodontics doesn't count) is two tooth extractions!! Her 'baby' top canines wouldn't come out on their own so had to be helped so that she can get train tracks in the New Year. I think the anaesthetic and the yanking ("I only heard crunching" were her words!) were a bit eek.

Now dosed with Calpol. She'll be fine.

Butty Tue 18-Dec-12 16:09:37

Finally finished home botched made cards and posted - all now 'calm and neutral'.

Note to self: Do not attempt to repeat design for next year.

Unless they are the last two chocolates in the house, how can you be so sure you'll only eat two? Or is that just me?

Bags Tue 18-Dec-12 10:54:44

Good thinking, kitty!

kittylester Tue 18-Dec-12 10:54:06

To be honest, I'm not sure two will be enough, Bags. Have a few more to be certain. grin

Bags Tue 18-Dec-12 10:48:19

Posted a parcel. Moved a pile of wood from the woodshed to the wash-house. Had the inevitable nosebleed. Made a brew (with teabag today!). About to eat two chocs. Chocs are good for nosebleeds, aren't they?

crimson Sun 16-Dec-12 14:45:55

Thanks anno; must have missed it smile.

annodomini Sun 16-Dec-12 14:45:52

Lovely day here, though the sun is going behind the rooftops now. I went down to Styal Mill primarily to go to the NT shop. Struck it lucky as they had reduced lots of their stock, including calendars. They also had some pretty planters reduced by 30% so I bought one as a gift and one for me. A profitable outing indeed.
