Glass am also looking after poorly grandson, but after a month I would be concerned to know exactly what the problem is with GS and what the treatment plan is. My little one has an ear infection again!

Shed a few silly tears. Post contained in-depth estimate from the builders in Lochgilphead. Almost £35,000 over the estimate we were given when we had a meeting with them, almost a month ago. Mr soop has taken the car for MOT. Won't be back to hear the news until mid-afternoon. We've been so upbeat about the possibility of having sufficient funds to buy the orchard plot and build the wee hoos. It's daft, I know, to feel this deflated. Tried to ring Bags...not that she'll have any answers. Am now throwing myself into a full day of housework. Sorry to be such a poe-faced pal.

glass I hope your GS feels better soon. My grandson had appendicitis when he was 7, and that feeling of helplessness to make it all go away for them will stay with me forever.

The worst one I can remember was a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. But he's unlikely to have that!

glass one of the worst pains that I can recall, was that of appendicitis. Thankfully, the GP who came to our home, sent me straight into hospital, and a few hours later the surgery was performed. I do hope that your grandson doesn't have to suffer more needless pain. xx

glass glad little GS is a bit better

crimson we had a near miss with an urban fox last night. It's usually MrDog's job to put the chicks to bed at night and he's always a bit tardy. However he's away at the moment so I did it just at dusk. I was walking back to the house when I heard the unmistakeable cry of a fox calling from the bottom of the garden. I sent our dogs down to chase her away but that was a close call.

Glad he is a bit better glass. I have written to my MP to tell him why I have deliberately not voted. A protest. I think you will have a quiet day.
Did she say "look you" crimson? is it somewhere in the neath valley they do it?
N Valley was part of my water patch. I remember once going out with a colleague distributing "we're going to turn your water off " leaflets. We knew Peter Hain lived somewhere up that road, he was the MP, and we wanted to make sure we didn't upset him, or anyone else in the road. (delivering a leaflet to every household is sometimes quite challenging!)

Good to hear your grandson is improving glass. Have you taken a book with you?

Good morning trust you all slept well. Dgs has had another good night.I am off to the polling station think its going to be a long day not expecting much of a turn out

On the subject of racing, last night we spoke to the guy who owns this years Grand National winner; he said his instructions to the jockey were, if he didn't look happy at any stage [and that included going down to the first fence] pull him up straight away. But he loved it. Saw several urban foxes on the way home; no matter how many times I see urban foxes it always thrills me. This new system seems to be more visual; lots of pictures and everything's colour coded...I'm sure it suits some people more than others, as we all process things in different ways [eg I hear what you're saying/ I see what you mean etc]. I'm glad I can just concentrate on a small area of the new system; some people have got to take on board the whole lot . I'm sure one of the main causes of stress in the workplace these days is the constant need for change. I saw a programme last night about the Japanese and fishing [it's still on iplayer and was fascinating]; it said [from memory; could be wrong] that 30,000 Japanese people commit suicide each year, probably due to stress from their work.

I would like to point out, with regard to some Welsh peoples phrases, that I was actually brought up by my Welsh Nan! She was form somewhere near Neath.

crimson , my racing mate, no one is expected to get the hang of a new system immediately. Ask again next time you are there and make notes. In my last job, I went in having never had to build and format an excel table, and as far as I was concerned at the time, PowerPoint was something that teachers or politicians did to people they either wanted to shut up, invite to ask a question or respond to one!

I do so wish I could let you all hear what I can. Two owls hooting outside, bit of a territory thing, but at the moment there is no other sound, no cars, no nothing. I expect the foxes will start up a bit later though!

Are they going to remove the appendix glass ? When DH had his first bout of pain they treated him and sent him home, this allows the infection to settle down. Six weeks later it flared up again and they removed it.

What? Say "look you" at the end of sentences jeni? I worked with people from the valleys for years and lived in S Wales coast and I never heard it.
maybe it is in a very specific locality they do it?
glass that sounds worrying. Hope he looks better tomorrow. If not maybe time to have him looked at by a paediatrician and not just the walk-in cover GP?
My DIL, a nurse says : People get better service from hospitals etc if they make a fuss. Never be afraid to make one.

Went into work to be shown how to use a new computer system; need to be up to speed with it in a couple of weeks. Didn't even attempt to understand what I was being shown ; had I done so would be in complete panic mode now. It's horrible. Old dog new tricks and all that ....

well am fed up as feel really ill again grrrrrrrrrr maybe should not have gone to acquacise yesterday so had cancel lunch with old friend and a client, had awful night, must had temperature as having dreadful dreams, and just felt could not breathe!!

lovely husband cancelled his night out to look after me, (best laid plans thought we both out no need to cook!!)
