I blowed my nose constantly and am disappearing under a sea of tissues.

Laugh damn you, laugh. You might have to read my post out loud. OK I will spell it out peanut sounds a lot like willy.

Respect Nellie, however , I am not going to be the same as i was in post office and bought 24 stamps , cost me £12.

So, those people who have emails will be getting e.cards .

Just absolutely crazy , the price .

I will not mind in the least if otherrs do the same , in fact I have had some and I rather like them .

I have just written about 40 christmas cards. My faithful Parker Biro running out mid address and requiring a shopping trip to replace, plus stamps more cards etc and a few presents. After all the writing my right thumb joint now hurts like hell!

I might almost be feeling slightly christmassy.

I'm glad for you Gally time passes all to quickly when they are little. I was talking to mine this morning and I can see how fast GS is growing up. Enjoying telling me he had "multicoloured popcorn" and he "graduated" from daycare last week - complete with mortar board! School boy after xmas.
I was laughing hysterically though. He was threatening to put popcorn up his nose. Conversation moved on to other people who had put beads etc in their noses, ears etc. I said "Daddy put a peanut up his nose when he was little"
Turns to father and says "Did you put your willy up your nose daddy when you were little"
grin
Strange to think I won't be going there again as they are heading back to cheaper WA next week - DS driving across the desert! And the others flying.

I've taken the plunge - booked my next trip to Sydney leaving at the end of February for 5 weeks. I know it's a bit soon - I only got back in September, but have decided that I should go while I can and I do want to see the baby again before she's walking! smile

Last night I went with friends to see the new Great Expectations film. It's had mixed reviews, but it held my attention all the time. For initial atmosphere, the David Lean classic version wins, with its moody, misty marshes, but the excitement picks up and a good pace is maintained. Ralph Fiennes is very good as Magwitch but I don't think Helena Bonham Carter is so convincing as Miss Havisham - spooky but not scary.

Have a good day Jeni. Its started to snow here this morning, which is not helping the high spirits of a 6yr DGS and 4 yr DGD hmm

jeni Mon 10-Dec-12 08:05:17

GD rang at lunchtime to say that Daddy was taking her and her sister out for fresh air and would we join them. I had the sense to wear a vest, jumper, cadigan with hood and a leather coat and it was still freezing. We are tough up north but this was something else. The children played happily in the swing park but there was still ice underfoot, after an hour we retired to the village tearoom and had scones and cake and warming tea. GD appears to be fully recovered from the norovirus but looked painfully thin.

No, just a lot of expandable suitcases. I used to have case and a trunk at boarding school, but somehow at the end of tern I always had at least half a dozen carrier bags as well. I don't seem to have changed?

annodomini Sun 09-Dec-12 15:06:09

jeni, do you have one of those cabin trunks they used to have in Edwardian times for long sea voyages? Can't imagine how I would ever pack that number of dresses - dresses, what are they? wink

jeni Sun 09-Dec-12 15:04:43

How do you save scrolling through?

jeni Sun 09-Dec-12 15:04:08

Too many! I can never resist a reduced evening dress,

Jodi Sun 09-Dec-12 14:57:10

Beats me jeni. Happily bags gave me some tips yesterday to save me scrolling through x number of pages to get to the end of a thread.
Very annoying.

You have dresses....in the plural?

jeni Sun 09-Dec-12 14:54:25

Btw, why do some threads go on in one long ream and others divide themselves into pages?

jeni Sun 09-Dec-12 14:53:23

Done the washing.
Sorted out 6formal dresses and 5semiformal dresses for the cruise .
Wasting time on GN!

Jodi Sun 09-Dec-12 14:42:27

On holiday all by myself in my wee flat. Just pleasing myself today until I head out into the wilds to seek out clan members. Lovely to have no reason to 'do' anything except chill...but spending to much time on GN.

Just watched one of the best days racing on the telly ever. A 14 year old wins over the National fences and one of the most beautiful horses you will ever see wins the Tingle Creek. Hello Bud and Sprinter Sacre. Awesome.
