I hate shopping

At last I have found others who dislike shopping as much as I do. Whether I am looking for a specific item (can never find it) or just wandering around hoping for inspiration it is a chore I really dislike. My friends all think I am a bit strange - they can shop for hours - whereas I go to the shops, get what I need and get out again as quickly as possible

No absent but you can ask for the tiger to be sliced.

Bags you were actually going round the shops while Mr Bags was surfing. I love looking at stuff but hate trailing round in person, especially with equally reluctant family members. Shopping malls and department stores give me claustrophobia and I have to find the nearest cafe to recover. Supermarkets aren't as bad but I don't like them either. Whoever decided that shopping was a pleasurable leisure activity needed to widen their horizons!

Is that white bread or brown?

I'm with Ariadne. Shopping is usually a time-limited chore, but occasionally when I just have time to wander, drift or potter I can enjoy it. Time ti investigate all those little shops or the unusual ingredients in the supermarket.

I enjoy being on a mission, knowing exactly what I am after. It's the aimless wandering around the shops that gets me. DH expression when doing this is - looking for inspiration!

I'm off to a real live shop at a swanky garden centre in Christchurch this morning. I'll probably get a few faffy bits, but mostly I shop online. I agree with you glass, it's the best thing since sliced bread!

I hate it with a passion rare in a woman of my age. What is more, I have a horrible tendency to faint, keeling over like a felled tree, if I have to spend more than about 15 minutes in a supermarket or department store.

I like shopping when it's just a potter round the shops looking at nice stuff without anything particular in mind, having a cup of coffee and maybe lunch. But most of the real stuff I do online - I agree with you glass!

Both you and me bags cant see the point in wasting time shopping when you could be doing something more interesting. Internet shopping for me is the best thing since sliced bread, of course that's after DD who loves to shop and will happily wander off with a list from me grin and she like wrapping grin grin

But DH loves it. This is good.

Yesterday, while in town on an orthodontist visit with DD, we popped into a good outdoor kit shop – she needs a winter coat/jacket. She's at that awkward age of being just about into extra small adult sizes. Anyway, we found the perfect mountainwear jacket but the price made me faint on the spot (so to speak) so we left the shop feeling pale.

Mentioned the problem to DH in the evening. He got searching online, called DD to assess/choose/be advised and found what was needed. They were happy spending half an evening doing this.

Next time I'll just leave them to it.
