What modest, old fashioned creatures!
Perhaps someone should tell her to 'lie back and think of China'smile

Pandas seem to be determined to render themselves extinct, don't they?
However, a baby panda or panda pregnancy might have deflected a little of the media attention from poor Kate and William

They're going to have artificial day and night to give them more together time. Apparently they don't like it with the light on.

Pandas are notoriously difficult to get "breeding". They also have a reputation for being bad tempered buggers!

She comes into season once a year, and if he is not in the mood then that is it for the year. She has had cubs before, so she knows what to do.

Next hot date will be in March/April, if she can get him to stop munching bamboo long enough to do the deed. He is very sensitive to noise and interference - Guy Fawkes night upset him, so did the recent storms. A few days after any upheaval, he gets tummy trouble. Of course, the fact that he never stops eating could have a bit to do with the indigestion.

What a coy panda! She must have a very considerate partner. grin

.. and likes the light out....

There are 2 of them. One of each. The female is not fertile for very long, or very often.

absentgrana Tue 04-Dec-12 18:09:25

Is she female JessM because that would help?

nanaej Tue 04-Dec-12 18:09:08

They were put off from mating, during the very short opportunity, apparently because the night light was on!

Just to redress the balance, I have just heard a very interesting news item on R4. The panda in Edinburgh Zoo is not pregnant. Yet.
