Even if it isn't, it describes me today. My hair is staticky, my clothes are staticky, my skin too - I've had loads of wee shocks today. What's going on?

Me too Baubs everytime I switch a light on or off - I get a wee shock. Maybe it's the weather hmm

My electricity keeps going off for a few minutes at a time - it is a nuisance, because I have to keep rebooting my computer. No personal shocks though.

My kids used the term static electricical. It's the cold and very dry air that causes it.

Wearing crocs around the house gives me shocks whenever I turn my lamps on or off. I've now got into the habit of touching wood first!

My hair is full of static in frosty weather. Conditioner helps.

If the word does not exist then it should.

I love that word. If we all start to use it then it will exist.

We should write to Susie Dent and ask how to get it into the OED.

It is onomatopoeic - sounds all crackly.
