Mine has a cut out so although the heating and hot water burner is working OK the cooker part cuts out without firing up (mine is oil fired)

Barrowexactly the same thing has happened to me.The Agas must be revolting!
The engineer was supposed to service mine last Friday and after I'd switched it off the night then he rang in the morning to say he was sick.Cold house for nothing.I managed to get it going again but it's definitely tepid and just ticking over.He is supposed to be coming tomorrow if he can 'fit it in' If he doesn't I'll be cooking Christmas dinner in the caravanshock

As I have the engineers mobile phone I did ring him, apologising profusely(I don't like ringing people on Sundays - they are entitled to some family time). Anyway I explained the problem and he is rearranging his schedule to fit me in on Tuesday afternoon but will come earlier if he can. Of course, if it needs a new part it still may not be fixed by Christmas!

The engineer knew my DH so I am hoping he will "pull out all the stops" to get the damn thing working again. I love it while its working but at the moment it is just an expensive bit of scrap metal!!!!

It actually has two "burners" the heating one is working OK (for now) its just the cooker that has gone on strike!

Good point When I think they have to giver priority to poor old pensioners who need the heating. Pile it on Barrow

Can you tell them you use it for heating Barrow? Even if it's to say you stay in the same room as the Aga to keep warm.

Oh Barrow I do hope the engineer can come soon and that it will only be something minor. I suggest you try the 'poor little old lady dependant upon the Aga for your life' tack.

Please let us all know what happens.

Yes, I do have an electric "mini kitchen" (two hobs and an oven) but nothing beats the Aga for cooking something long and slow - chicken and turkey always come out lovely and moist.

Oh, Barrow, sympathy! Reminds me of the time my oven packed in the day my in-laws were coming too lunch. Do you have any back-up equipment?

Got up this morning started to make breakfast and my Aga has decided to stop working! (perhaps as the end of the world is coming it decided to give up early) Couldn't have chosen a better time!

I can't ring the engineer until tomorrow and even then I don't know if he will be able to come before Christmas. I have so much to do next week I don't have time for this angry
