My DS often buys quirky presents.
One last Xmas was 'Goodbye Cruel World ...a book of memorable epitaphs'
I was somewhat concerned ..but he's survived this very unhappy year,has a new job and a new girl-friend!! The book in fact is quite amusing and thought- provoking.

I replace everything DH has lost during the year(at least only the things he mourns) I have been told we never lose things by accident but he is just absentminded.

jingle my DS1 would find it very funny but the younger one would analize it and think allsorts,when it was DS1s birthday Saturday gone I bought him a card of plastic mustashes from Next,all different shapes he has been trying to grow a tash all year with not much success he found the prezzie very funny,his future MIL bought him a spiderman onesie and he was delighted younger son would have thrown it in disgust so they are all different,I bet he will love it as he knows your sence of humour well I should think after all these yrs.

I think it depends on your relationship with your son. Mine would have no problem but my DiL would hate it.
