I guess we all have to do what feels right for us, j05

If it was a marketplace seller, then I would have let them know. They are little people and probably struggling. Not big greedy Amazon itself though.

phoenix just refuse to sign for it when it comes.

Have some wine

Oh bugger, just got an email saying that it was too late to cancel! I'll just have to sort it out when (if?) it arrives.

Ana you're right about the guilt thing, bad karma, what goes around, comes around etc.

All's well that ends well - Happy Christmas!

Ana Wed 19-Dec-12 18:15:38

Well done, phoenix - you know you'd have felt guilty if you'd said nothing!
There's no guarantee that the replacement won't turn up between now and Christmas, though....or possibly a delivery meant for a Mr Simmons of Norwich...wink

Anne58 Wed 19-Dec-12 18:12:39

I've just contacted Amazon to cancel the replacement! It took quite a bit of explaining as to what had happened, but I think she got the gist of it in the end.

Present wrapped and hidden in the wardrobe! grin wine grin

Thought so - I'm surprised Yodel drivers ever find their way home at night! Sorry, I think you do need to let Amazon know that the product has arrived though.

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 18:05:27

Say nothing.

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 18:05:01

Well, I know what I'd do. It's only Amazon. Not an individual.

Take the item to a charity shop?

whenim64 Wed 19-Dec-12 18:04:55

Send 'em an email telling them to collect it at your convenience. If they don't collect it within 3 months, you keep it. then make sure you don't answer the door till March! grin

Ana Wed 19-Dec-12 18:01:42

Yodel are renowned for it - there are probably thousands of parcels unnaccounted for under their tracking 'system'!

Anne58 Wed 19-Dec-12 17:59:03

Sorry, cross posted.

The only thing that I can think of is that Yodel made a mistake with their signing for equipment thingy, and entered the wrong name and location against the wrong item, if you know what I mean.

Anne58 Wed 19-Dec-12 17:56:34

But it would be dishonest not to do something.

Movedalot Wed 19-Dec-12 17:56:21

OOPS! Have some wine

Ana Wed 19-Dec-12 17:55:57

Tell Amazon. It's their fault and their problem - you weren't to know!

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 17:53:47

Amazon is one of those that don't pay tax. So do NOT have any qualms.

jO5 Wed 19-Dec-12 17:44:12

shock O M G !!

I dunno.

(e-bay?) grin

Anne58 Wed 19-Dec-12 17:41:29

Evening all,

My neighbour has just dropped round a parcel.

From Amazon.

It's the item that (according to the order tracker info) was signed for by some people called Simmons.

In Newton Abbott.

Now what do I do???
