Jess! grin

No he won in the Olympics and won a grand slam - but not Wimbledon. You are obviously as fascinated by tennis as I am ana. For me it belongs with soccer as one of those activities that I am sure is great fun to take part in if you have put in the necessary hours of practice. But why would anyone want to watch them do it? Any more than they would want to watch me reading or trying to crochet? Mystified of MK. hmm

Well done Wiggo-a worthy winner indeed.
My friend thought he was arrogant. I disagreed...LikeNonu I think he is very laid back...a bit cheeky and unconventional...a real personality.

POGS Thu 20-Dec-12 19:54:04

He does have chicken legs though doesn't he. confused

Ana Thu 20-Dec-12 19:32:12

Didn't he? confused

JessM Thu 20-Dec-12 19:25:16

I don't claim to know much about tennis. But he still didnt win wimbledon did he?

Sook Thu 20-Dec-12 19:16:08

Ariadne I'm on your side lol grin

Sook Thu 20-Dec-12 19:14:45

I commented to DH that Wiggo had a mod haircut. It's not a very flattering cut for him but I suppose he probably wears his cycle helmet 90% of the time.

annodomini Thu 20-Dec-12 19:00:36

How do you explain Andy coming third, then, Jess? hmm

JessM Thu 20-Dec-12 18:36:10

Lets face it, it was a unique year. Mo and Jess both also deserved to win and either would have done without the competition from the other and Wiggo.

Ariadne Thu 20-Dec-12 17:34:15

It was "Sports Personality" which automatically disqualifies Murray. (Ducks for cover)

Nonu Thu 20-Dec-12 16:47:27

If that"s the case Wiggo won by a long chalk , big time .winkwink

JessM Thu 20-Dec-12 16:40:06

Any of you youngsters in your early 50s or any over 70s may not appreciate the nuances.
Velvet double breasted suit in dark blue and a "mod" haircut. Think The Who or The Small Faces, late 1960s.
He actually also brings to mind Wallace and Grommitt for me.
I thought he and Lewis were competing for dandy of the night.

Nonu Thu 20-Dec-12 16:26:17

When , it is funny you should say that , DH remarked when we were watching , remember when I used to dress like that .
ME , er yess.

I prefer the Paul Weller look on him. Reminds me of the mod days smile

Ana Thu 20-Dec-12 15:28:28

I wish he'd kept his sideburns. He looks like Paul Weller now...

Granny23 Thu 20-Dec-12 15:25:42

'winer' = winner blush

Granny23 Thu 20-Dec-12 15:24:54

Leave his hair alone. He had probably just taken his cycling helmet off grin

A worthy winer for once. Andy Murray can wait until he has won wimbledon.

Ella46 Thu 20-Dec-12 15:16:18

I wish he'd get a decent haircut grin

Nonu Thu 20-Dec-12 15:15:11

Congratulation To Wiggo , he deserved his honour sooo much .

The great thing about him , he is so laid back about everything .

Wonderful gringringringrin
