Favourite present was being with my GD's aged 1 and 2, watching them open their presents, not acting like spoilt brats asking 'is that all there is?' and watching the 3 year old tuck into her Xmas dinner with great gusto.
2nd favourite present? £35 worth of book tokens - I'm really easy to buy for and a bit boring as I love book tokens. I was lucky enough to receive Restless from Gransnet - the 2nd book and 3rd prize I've won from them. After 60 odd years of never winning anything. Good old Gransnet!! smile

I got a digital piano, after years of not having a piano. Always had one before moving to UK, but it's been over 12 years. Let the practicing begin. Love it!

I won't say favourite, but definitely my most exciting present is my iPad mini - on which I'm typing this. I love the ease of use and the fact that it's so mobile. I've been a tad worried about dropping it, but my lovely daughter's just phoned to say she's treated me to a leather case for it so I hope that will help me to feel a little more confident when carrying it around in future. I haven't quite got the hang of it yet. I don't know how to bookmark sites and there's no Gransnet app, so it's all still a bit hit an miss, but I'm going on an apple workshop soon. smile

Both sons and their families got together and bought me a 'face and body' experience at a local salon on Christmas eve. Full body massage - hot stones and all - and a luxurious facial. Heaven! Lots more presents, but the best thing was having four out of the five GC together on Christmas day.

Most of my friends bought me, booze, chocolates and "smellies". Makes me wonder what they think of me - a fat alcoholic who needs to wash grin

Michael Buble CD!!!! Then the coasters fron D-soon-to-be-son-in-law (abbreviation please?) with photos of DGCs and DDs. Very thoughtful gift! And would it be materialistic to say I was pretty pleased with my new food mixer(also for birthday/next Christmas/next birthday/next Christmas.....)

Yes; I was thinking something in the way of sheet music. What a thoughtful DD you have!

What a good memory you have crimson! - the same DD bought me very old and very beautiful book of Somerset folk songs.

It sounds as though other grans have had memorable presents too.

Mine was a candle made by 4 year old hands - big lump of clay with stars and beads stuck on it, candle leaning dangerously to one side. My little grandson came flying out of school when I went to pick him up. He shouted to his teacher 'Mrs Bowman, this is my nana - I telled you she came to meet us!' (She's seen me many times now) Then he turned to me, thrust the candle in my hand 'there you go, nana, I made this 'pecially for you.' Melt smile

Mine was having the children here on Christmas morning, hearing their squeals when they realised Santa had been and watching their faces as they ripped open their presents and the paper fight we had afterwards.

My second favourite was the camera tripod my DH bought me. I have a bit of a tremor which sometimes affects the quality of my photos but now I have a solid base for my camera. It's lightweight but very strong and can be set at a variety of heights and angles. I can't wait until Spring. I want to set it up in the garden aimed at the bird feeders and use the remote control to take photos of the birds.

Oh the poetry book sounds wonderful. Did you not have something similar last year Mishap or am I thinking of someone else; I know someone mentioned something quite rare that had been found for them by a member of their family? It might come to me if I have a ponder.
