Well another year is nearly gone and I think I will have to risk letting some of the moths out of my wallet tonight to buy 1 or 2 drinks at my local club of course so I can walk home.
I am trying to let them breed but my daughters and granddaughters will not allow it.
Anybody else doing the same tonight?.

Frank

No, we will be staying in and having a glass or 3. I hate the sort of faux bonhomie that seems to prevail in the pubs and clubs, plus being packed in like sardines and having to fight (not literally!) the way to the bar has no appeal.

Surely it was longer than that? confused

Har har har hmm

I really dont like new year. I cant see any improvements coming up. I never make resolutions. What a lot of fuss about nothing and when I get to bed late there will be some local silly beggars letting off fireworks! [ms grumpyemoticon]

CERTAINLY ARE, have always enjoyed new year, after all the hype and over the top adverts and rubbish about Xmas with no signe of christian festival just COMMERCIAL HYPE!! o dear sound like scrooge, always enjoy lovely dance at local function room each new year, but t his year not having one, so we going to one of our social clubs with 4 good friends. our turn not to drive so yes expect drinks to flow!!!

annodomini Mon 31-Dec-12 15:25:40

Going with sister and BiL to friends a few miles away. I will be the driver, so will confine myself to one glass of bubbly to see in 2013. Have just been out to lunch with GD to celebrate her 21st. She was looking sensational but the shoes were pretty far out!

Have a good one, all of you. Even you, Nelliemoser.

To say that I feel the same as you Hunterf is an understatement but I wonder why you start threads and then we don't hear from you any more with some feedback or your thoughts and advise given???

Hiya we are doing what my parents used to call a safari supper with some neighbours - aperitifs and a starter in one house then a main course in another , pud in another and coffee and mints and champers at 12 in another. Someone has some fireworks which we may let off if its not too wet and windy. We have also all been invited to join another party at the end of the evening along the road. Think I may be a bit tired and emotional by then!

We are going to friends for supper, staying the night, champagne brunch in morning, then a walk in Richmond Park. Am glad to say goodbye to this year and am ready to welcome in the next .

We're jetlagged after Christmas so we'll be staying in with a TV supper of some Italian stuff I picked up from M&S. Don't ask what it is as I didn't bother thinking too much - just chucked a few things in the basket hmm

Just had a delivery of a case of delicious wine from our DS. According to the paperwork it should have arrived last week but as usual, good old parcelforce couldn't be bothered. Never mind. It was a LOVELY surprise grin.
