crimson as my fridge is empty of all goodies, wine stock low, and funds depleted I've started the new year in a sort of detox mode.

Also, I'm 'frugaling' (being frugal) and using up bits and pieces from freezer and cupboards. Right now I have simmering away a pea & mint soup, which is made from a bag of frozen peas, stock and an onion. Tomorrow it'll be cream of butter bean soup grin

You and I will steal a march on the girls who are making hay until the 7th!wink

Riverwalk; my detox starts today [so I'll be raring to go on the 7th]. Could do with some moral support for a few days if you're around smile. Starting by drinking lots of water [something I've got out of the habit of recently].

I'm on the perpetual monday morning diet.

Mind you I did manage to give up smoking. I thought I would start by giving up smoking after sex. Problem is I've had the same packet of fags since 1982. blush

I'm getting shorter Bez. I honestly don't think there is anything we can do about it. My son, also, tells me about back stretching. hmm Sometimes he takes hold of me from behind under my arms and hauls me up again. It does feel good, but I sink straight back down when he lets go. (he is a qualified personal trainer btw smile [phew!] I guess he knows what he's doing)

I have had a nasty shock this morning - went to see the nurse for a blood pressure check - all OK but then she said she would weigh me and measure my height - have lost about 1cm since last measure - some 15 years ago and my weight is the same as before I started trying to lose last some months ago - BUT I was fully clothed and had eaten/ drunk as normal etc. I know it won't be much out - that is what is so depressing!
I noticed that DS seemed a lot taller than me this last week or so - that bit was not a surprise. Told DSiL and he straight away began showing me back stretching exercises - may give it a go as have trouble enough with the top shelves of Sainsbury's as it is smile

I need to lose about half a stone. Thought I might just give up alcohol for a while. But, I shall wait until after next weekend as son I didn't see over Christmas is coming with his family.

As far as putting off dieting or going for it is concerned, I do believe it's more likely to be a success if you are in the rate frame of mind. My late DH once bought me an apron with 'diets begin tomorrow' on it. Says it all really.

That's not a helpful attitude Bez !! grin
