Made some bread, made some lentil soup, sawed, lopped and yanked a couple of dozen rhododendron branches off and shredded them, pulled a muscle in the process, divested self of wet muddy clothing including wool gloves topped by industrial strength rubber gloves, and the other paraphernalia of keeping warm and dry in Scotland in winter, showered, put a wash on, made coffee, sat down with feet up.

"Nufff d-d-day, I fink!" as DD used to say when she was two.

Still have to wash-up and make dinner but I'm slobbing until that cannot be put off any longer.

Hi jeni my sympathies. I had it for the recomended amount of days but still feel awful a week later and have just bought a tonic. My friend told me to drink advocaat but it made matters worse. I need a sit down ever afternoon so look after yourself and let DD and your neighbour know. flowers

thats shame Jeni, at least it did not spoil your cruise, hope you feeling lots better soon!

harrigran Fri 11-Jan-13 19:26:20

Get well soon jeni
Today I had lunch with my elder sister, boy can she talk. She says we will have a good natter but what she means is she will talk and I will listen. She leaves the UK for her other home on Monday so it will be a while before I see her again. I feel really horrible saying this but we really do not have anything in common, she has lived in another country for 45 years and does not have children. We are exact polar opposites sad

jeni, look after yourself. I know what you doctors are like... I agree you should let your neighbour know you're not feeling too good.

Today I went for a little swim. At the moment I am sticking to 10 lengths because of the accursed shoulder but have developed a strange front crawl, overarm with the right arm, underarm with the left. It must look strange but it works.

Jeni hope you soon feel better flowers
I am sitting with a packet of frozen peas applied to my hip.... Having treatment for bursitis which I have been putting up with for 3 years. The physio is, hopefully, working wonders but has recommended the 'pea' treatment for 2 hours a day. Brrrr, it's a bit chilly grin

Jodi - it sounds lovely! Can you give us an idea of the area that you're in - OK if you'd rather not, of course)? I'd like to picture it. I'm in Fife. smile

Today I got up early and when just light took the dogs for a walk in the hills. The builders are coming later to hear (and probably disapprove of) my ideas for a few changes at the cottage.
My days are settling into a pleasant routine. Coffee, walk dogs, shower, across to hotel for another coffee, chat with DIL and DS, play with GDs till 10.00ish.
Then do as I want! I know all this chilling will soon pall but need it just now shock
