Made some bread, made some lentil soup, sawed, lopped and yanked a couple of dozen rhododendron branches off and shredded them, pulled a muscle in the process, divested self of wet muddy clothing including wool gloves topped by industrial strength rubber gloves, and the other paraphernalia of keeping warm and dry in Scotland in winter, showered, put a wash on, made coffee, sat down with feet up.

"Nufff d-d-day, I fink!" as DD used to say when she was two.

Still have to wash-up and make dinner but I'm slobbing until that cannot be put off any longer.

Sooppleased you are back safe and sound.
Gally there's nothing like a lovely afternoon tea WITH Fizz!
Nanapug ouch!
Kitty ((((hugs))))

Gally Wed 13-Feb-13 20:58:11

Welcome home soop flowers keep off the f & c for a bit!!
nanapug ouch - do you get the plate put in straight away? Hope it isn't too sore.
I've just arrived home after a lovely birthday tea party for a friend's 80th birthday at Harvey Nicks. The food was amazing and topped off with a couple of Proseccos. I hope I look as young as my friend when I'm 80 wink

nanapug Wed 13-Feb-13 20:34:13

Had my two front lower teeth removed and a downstairs plate put in to match the upstairs one. Absolutely hate having false teeth but that's life. My GS is fascinated by them though!!

glassortwo Wed 13-Feb-13 20:08:29

soop pleased your home safe and sound, give Rory a cuddle tonight as I have a feeling he wont be speaking to you tomorrow grin

Marelli Wed 13-Feb-13 19:56:15

So glad to hear you're home safe and sound, soop! The gales outside will mask any other 'untoward murmurs'. wink xx

kittylester Wed 13-Feb-13 19:52:30

When we moved from Shrewsbury to Melton Mowbray in 1975, I drove my Citroen Diane all the way down the A5 with 3 children in the back and two cats, who had escaped from their cardboard cat 'baskets', sitting on my shoulders! I daren't stop for food, to wee or even to feed howling babies for fear of them escaping. The cats also howled all the way!!

j08 Wed 13-Feb-13 19:08:43

Glad you're back*soop*. Good luck with the moggie tomorrow (starting with getting him in the box!)

#notmyfaultyouwentformushiepeas shock hmm grin

Ana Wed 13-Feb-13 18:53:22

So glad your hospital visit had a hopeful outcome, soop, and the very best of luck with Rory tomorrow....I suppose you know very well that he will resist tooth and nail! grin

soop Wed 13-Feb-13 18:25:05

grin Rory is perched precariously on the window ledge. His wifelet-that-was and daughter are tucking into their suppers on the patio. He is howling like a banshee. Mr soop is threatening to attend to his unmentionables with the kitchen knife. Only joking. wink

Ariadne Wed 13-Feb-13 17:19:48

Years ago, we took on an extra cat, who lived with DD in Putney. Small, black, gorgeous. Named Beauty. DH picked the cat up and brought her home to Kent. He can still point out the point on the South Circular where she pooed in her basket, and the points on the M2 where she threw up. (He's not good with vomit etc...)

She then stalked into the kitchen, and took up residence in the (newly cleaned out) litter tray, staring balefully at the three resident moggies, who were horrified. And the stories could continue...

We feel she had had a traumatic kitten hood!

annodomini Wed 13-Feb-13 17:11:29

Good luck for that, soop. I once had to transport a cat with croup (well that's what it sounded like) about 20 miles to the vet. Not only did he yowl all the way there and back but he yowled hoarsely. Unfortunately he didn't lose his voice.

soop Wed 13-Feb-13 16:24:20

Gaga...Rory is driving us silly. He's obviously wanting to go on the rampage and squawks pityfully whenever we near the door. The chariot of doom is ready for a fur-flying episode planned for 8:30 a.m. Twenty four miles of travel with a howling cat, should just about finish us off. Hey ho...as Bags says, onwards and forwards and no looking back! hmm

soop Wed 13-Feb-13 16:16:59

grin...and, 'though I was unable to have a G&T, I did enjoy a Baileys cream coffee...'licious! wink

Thank you for your supportive messages. I did mention to the staff on the ward that you lot are very special. Funny, but two people asked ..."are you from Worcester?" Which I'm not. A gentleman from the East, thought that I was American!

Although hospitals are not usually the jolliest of places, the NEW Stobhill staff made me laugh...especially the Staff Nurse.

Gagagran Wed 13-Feb-13 16:06:24

Well done Soop - your bravery and positivism is an example to us all! flowers

As for Mr Rory - are you sure he has not engineered the snow to delay his inevitable journey in the chariot of doom? Clever creatures, cats!

moomin Wed 13-Feb-13 15:53:22

Fish, chips AND mushy peas! Atta girl! Glad you're home safe and sound soop

annodomini Wed 13-Feb-13 15:26:21

So far, so good, soop. I'm pleased to hear you got home safely and that the surgeons are hopeful of being able to sort you out. ((((hugs))))

kittylester Wed 13-Feb-13 15:22:12

Thanks anno and soop.

I agree soop, surgery would be my choice too. smile

Granny23 Wed 13-Feb-13 15:09:25

Soop Glad you are back home safe and sound after a 'wind' powered journey and that the team believe your undercarriage can be repaired. sunshine

Ariadne Wed 13-Feb-13 15:02:19

soop glad you are home again, though it looks as if you have a lot to get through yet! Good too to hear your praise for the hospital - like mine after Theseus' operation. Take care of yourself, though I know Mr Soop will do that too. xx

soop Wed 13-Feb-13 14:46:55

Butty smile especially for you. x

Butty Wed 13-Feb-13 14:41:24

soop Lovely to hear you're home again! sunshine

soop Wed 13-Feb-13 14:37:02

'Fraid so, Bags. We stopped off for coffee on the way home. The fire had been lit. It was about 11:am and I thought to myself...at this time next week...grin

Bags Wed 13-Feb-13 14:31:20

Thinking next Tuesday.... smile

Bags Wed 13-Feb-13 14:30:56

Hey! Do they do that at the George in Inverary?

Bags Wed 13-Feb-13 14:30:21

soop, I'm very glad you're safe at home again. I'm utterly staggered that you chose fish and chips and mushy peas!! Who'd 'a thunk it? wink
