Thanks for get well wishes and also for the medicine G23 . You're right it's sods bloody law!! Back to work tomorrow, couldn't feel less like it but illness is frowned upon so I've little choice. Just two days till the weekend though.

That's miserable, baubles. Hope you go on getting stronger and better. I'd wondered where you'd gone.

I got up at 6.45am as I am expecting a delivery of a washing machine which would be "between 7am and 7pm". At 7.10 I got a text and a phone call to tell me that my delivery slot would be "between 2pm and 6pm" And I am still waiting.

On the bright side, I've got the spare bedroom/office/craft room sorted.

Got up late, 8.45, as not sleeping well over the past few nights. Had shower, made breakfast and had cup of coffee. Tidied sitting room, checked into Gransnet, made bed and tidied bedroom, put on washing and had lunch, more coffee, checked into Gransnet again and have been sitting here surfing the net ever since.

Oh well tomorrow is another day!

I've been back at work today and very glad I was to get out of the house and away from DH for a bit! All that 'togetherness' over the Christmas period is very wearing.....

I had a bath for the first time in -nine weeks- as I had my plaster removed today. It was wonderful. My challenge for the next few days is to get rid of all the scaly skin and learn to walk again!!

Oh Baubles - I have missed you but thought you were in Ireland over Christmas, New Year. Just like the thing to take ill when you are on holiday from work. Sending and NB that is medicine in the glass not wine!

I have met 2 old friends today, one by pure chance which was lovely as I had not seen her for 2 years + then went off to visit old friend, so all in all had a good day. I was a bit naughty as I made a quick exit from home as DD,SIL are off work this week and they were relaxing and the two little ones were Grandma, Grandma so I did a runner

Got up, got dressed, got outside for 10 minutes. Doesn't sound much does it?

I've been floored by a flu type illness for a full week now, came over me on Boxing Day, actually 'felled' would be a better word.

My breathing is still very poor, still coughing but the high temp has gone so no more hallucinations/ nightmares.

Have been feeling quite sorry for myself actually

Decided to start the 2:5 eating plan which went well until I returned from a long walk and succumbed to a Tesco Chocolate Pudding. Oh dear. Never mind, tomorrow's another day and it is still a holiday here north 'o the border

Crawled out of bed after another broken night. Have this awful chesty virus and every bone and muscle is aching. Started two weeks worth of washing but back is that painful I can hardly bend to retrieve the clothes. DH is making lunch but I am not hungry. he is getting bored and is asking when I will be better he thinks we should give DIL a break and take two hyperactive GC for a day. His day will consist of playing rough on the floor, working them into a frenzy and I will do the meals, toilet stops, mopping up spills and then the tidying up when they go home. He is wondering why I am not jumping up and down.

Went swimming, had cup of tea, did washing went to Pilates then met a friend for coffee. Am now ironing but as you can see I'm not! I'll do it in a minute, maybe....

Fell out of bed into walking shoes and took off for 1.1/4 hrs into a misty-sunshiny morning. Shower. Made coffee, put washing on, sorted out some stuff for a friend, hung out washing, made Endive and goat's cheese gratin for supper and am now off to the Library.

Whilst drinking my tea, in bed, I made a really long list of things to do today. Had a shower, came down, ate half my breakfast and DD3 turned up with mad dog and energetic nearly one year old. Her husband was doing his VAT so she thought it would be good to get out of the house so he could concentrate! They left about 11 and by the time I had cleared up and had a much needed cuppa, DH had come home for lunch!

I'm giving up now and going shopping for cards for the birthdays that arrive all of a rush in January. DH has gone shopping for my birthday and needed to take the big car - not a good sign!!

Bags you put me to shame - all I have done on your list is make coffee. I did however clear up last night, found six items left behind by DDs and DGC who have been staying over. Stacked the dishes for DH to tackle today, I have noticed that since DD acquired a dishwasher she imagines that our dishes also wash themselves. Have a stack of washing to do because as well as compulsive 'all beds, towels, etc. to be changed for NY', DGD2 managed to negotiate the ladder from the bunk bed and sprint to the bathroom but was unable to get herself out of her new 'onsies' in time and ran up and down peeing copiously over the bathroom floor and mats then attempted to mop up using about six towels. DGS appeared in his 'onsies' and demonstrated to his wee sister how to pee while fully dressed by opening the bottom button. When she pointed out that she lacked the necessary small hose he declared 'Well thats not very well designed'.

Will go visit aged Uncle today in his care home and see if he is still 'fed up'.

I cancelled a much needed hair appointment as I have a throaty-lurgy-thing but then made a big sponge cake to welcome home DD, DSiL, SGD and DGS who are in a plane on their way home from Christmas/New Year in Thailand.

DH has just cycled to their house with it (in a tin) and was ages coming back. He went in in his cycling shoes and got a lot of dirt from the shoes on the carpet so then had to find some carpet cleaner and clean it up! It didn't occur to him to slip them off at the door of course.

Will be lovely to have them back and hear of their adventures especially at Elephant Hills where apparently they could feed and wash elephants - much looked forward to by all of them!
