I'm not sure what to make of this

MY DH does this sort of thing all the time. Only difference is that we drink coffee in bed in the morning and don't watch TV. I take it at face value. He still thinks I'm beautiful and have the best legs ever so why should I disabuse him?

I still think he is pretty handsome too.

Very ,very romantic like Tristan and Isolde

Take it at face value and think how lovely he is,my DH does the same thing and I am always bemused and surprised. Conversely, I found him standing at the mirror one day , in his underpants, thrusting his belly out and saying" what can you see in me,it must be my DIY skills there can be no other reason?" That night I came to get into bed to find the circular saw in the middle of the bed, that had been put there to remind me as to why I should keep him! There are many other reasons, and that is just one of them grin

Oh yes, jane I recognise that one!

Or 'is that dress new?' Usually when I have been wearing said dress on a regular basis for several years hmm

Last time DH looked at me intently I thought he was going to pay me a compliment instead he said "you really need to go to the hairdressers" hmm

kitty how sweet!

I think nature gives us a helping hand when the eye sight get a little blurry it makes us look like we are in a Doris Day film smile

Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

How lucky are you, mine would have taken one look, groaned and turned over.

Nice to know some Leicestershire men still have a hint of romance in their soul. smile

Ahhhh - that's lovely........I've come to the conclusion that we don't age in our DH's eyes, mine would think that he had died and gone to heaven if I appeared in a mini skirt and stockings - I should add that I'm 70 but he doesn't seem to realise it!! Whereas my route to happiness is support hose and elasticated waists!!
Enjoy his gazes - he is not seeing what you see in the mirror, he is seeing what is in his heart.

But do you oblige Mishap ?

Mishap Tue 15-Jan-13 18:25:23

Whenever OH gazes at me he wants me to get my kit off! I know the signs!

Gally Tue 15-Jan-13 18:23:50

The late mr G would do that from time to time. I do miss it. I don't think our OH's quite see us as we see ourselves!

Nonu Tue 15-Jan-13 18:22:34

Always get a bit nervous when DH "gazes at me " usually think what are you going to say now .

As if "gazing" softens things .

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Kittylester what a lovely post, do not read anything unpleasant into it, am sure you haven't really. Just treaure it.

Ana Tue 15-Jan-13 18:16:55

I agree with the others. People can never understand why a loved one would just like 'looking' at them, but surely you sometimes feel the same about him, kitty? [hopeful emoticon!]

Grannylin Tue 15-Jan-13 18:16:47

Can't believe his luck kitty

gracesmum Tue 15-Jan-13 18:07:53

Aaaaaaaaaaah! Romance is not dead then!
Enjoy it (or alternatively send him to Specsavers (only joking)
Seriously,I think that is really sweet and you should treasure the compliment!

Grannyknot Tue 15-Jan-13 18:06:35

LOL! That's a wonderful compliment. He's having a 'love-you-very-much' moment, enjoy it.

Every morning, before we start the day, DH and I sit in bed having a couple of cups of tea, watching Breakfast and organising the day. This morning I became aware that DH was looking at me. Bear in mind that I am still looking slightly the worse for wear (well quite ropey really!!) after the Norovirus and my hair always looks like a scarecrow's until I've had a shower. When I asked what was the matter he said, 'Nothing, I just like looking at you!'

So, do you think I should make him and optician's appointment or skip that and go straight to someone who can test his mental capabilities? Alternatively, what has he been up to?
