I am sad to see crimson has gone. I always enjoyed your posts crimson and hope you return. flowers

JessM Not necessarily fans but certainly friends, who are, of course, much nicer. Just slightly pissed off with a couple of Snoopy posters who think I am the Red Baron when I am making a real effort not to be controversial or impatient or dismissive, but a nice old woman. grin

Tegan Sat 19-Jan-13 17:57:42

I miss you all. I had to disconnect myself because it was the only way to stop trying to explain what I was trying to say and I was getting all wound up [and then I couldn't reply to anything]. I'm a complete billynomates, so I can't leave granset wink. I won't do it again because I've run [ran?] out of names that I like. My dear departed internet chum, Alan used to say to me 'Brave Heart Tegan' when I was being a scaredy cat about something [like the works Christmas dinner]. So, Tegan it is. crimson xxx

Oh yes of course.. done that before.. perhaps we have marched together before ..but never met!

Movedalot Sat 19-Jan-13 16:23:12

I love that idea nanaej will you lead the march? smile

nanaej Sat 19-Jan-13 16:20:47

Jess & jeni I think that like Black Power and Gay Pride older people ought to seize back the language, name themselves ( as a group) and therefore be more in control! grin

JessM Sat 19-Jan-13 16:07:03

Folks if you think you are being personally attacked then you can report the post, rather than carry on scrapping.
You obviously have lots of fans absent so enough of that nonsense grin
jeni I am glad your boiler is at least trying - but calling yourself one?! I disapprove. There are enough people out there being rude about older women - we don't have to be rude about ourselves.

Movedalot Sat 19-Jan-13 15:37:32

Thanks petallus smile

petallus Sat 19-Jan-13 15:23:17

I see where Movedalot is coming from.

absent Sat 19-Jan-13 13:03:01

How come you can say that you don't understand what's caused all this hoohah, hurt and anger soop but when I say it I am shouted at and told I can't emphasise [sic] and lack emotional intelligence? [not fair emoticon] One rule for the lovely lady and one rule for the not lovely not lady, I guess. grin

annodomini Sat 19-Jan-13 12:59:09

You are one, soop which is why we love you. flowers

soop Sat 19-Jan-13 12:58:25

I've reserved a place for you, Grannyeggs...and there's room for many more. Just throwing another log on the fire. smile

Movedalot Sat 19-Jan-13 12:57:37

soop I see where you are coming from. In some cases we can sit back and ignore the jibes but in others some of us feel we have to stand up for ourselves, especially when it keeps happening.

I've read through a number of threads recently and I think some of the communication problems that have arisen have done so because people don't read the posts before putting finger to keyboard. It has quite charming results sometimes when the thread goes off on a surreal excursion but it can also, apparently, lead to total misunderstanding and hurt feelings. If you quail at the thought of reading six pages of other posters' thoughts you can usually find out what the issue is and what was actually said within a couple of pages. If GN had the facility of easily quoting the post to which one takes issue, that would also help.

Grannyeggs Sat 19-Jan-13 12:56:30

Grannyeggs Sat 19-Jan-13 12:55:59

Let's meet in the bolt hole eat drink and be merry.[ flowers]

soop Sat 19-Jan-13 12:53:03

I'm really do not understand where all the above is coming from. It makes me sad that so many well-meaning people are involved in a virtual fracas. There is so much tormoil in this wee world of ours. Where are the peace-makers?

Faye Sat 19-Jan-13 12:32:08

I feel your frustration movedalot. flowers

Movedalot Sat 19-Jan-13 12:03:19

This is what I mean when I talk about people misrepresenting what others have said. I defended myself and this morning have seen this:

"I feel very annoyed at being vilified for hijacking this thread when I had nothing to do with the digression. I simply replied to an attack. Whenever I try to defend myself against concerted animosity, I am accused of squabbling. Perhaps I should just let anybody say anything they like about me without any response.
I have no idea why Movedalot chose to make this unnecessary and unpleasant diversion but DO NOT BLAME ME!"

This is a personal attack! Anyone reading the thread will see that I have been, yet again, misquoted.

I am the one who responded to what was said about me, not the other way round!

Here we go again but I am not going to just sit here and take it, ever!

I note that Ana never did get a response. That has happened before.

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 21:26:06

ANY SUITABLE AID.

iPad finger!

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 21:25:31

Sorry WITH AMY SUITABLE SID

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 21:23:11

Quite and yes mobilising means without any suitable aid. A manual aid used by the claimant ie if its a wheelchair NOT being pushed. Propelling yourself and not an electric one.
If you are over 65. A form from your local council can be completed by your GP to get a blue badge. There is no mobility component for people over 65 but they can still get a badge. Pip is for the under 65s at the moment ad far as I can see!

gracesmum Fri 18-Jan-13 21:15:43

I did mean the heating! The other "old boiler" seems to be surviving well.
By "mobilising" does that mean using a wheelchair/mobility scooter/walking or wheely frame? I suspect it does, which is why I still have not bothered to apply for a blue parking badge.
Q: Can you stand at all and move 3 steps(with help)?
A: if "yes" - application rejected!!

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 21:11:22

Which one? The heating one or the old one - me! The heating is on but hardly keeping pace!
Didn't say it was privileged!
The ESA law is not well understood even by CAB people. We have intensive regular training courses. We have to. They keep changing the darn thing. I think we're on the third version.
The next one will be on the new PIP!
Watch this space. Someone said the other day you have to be incapable of mobilising (not walking note) less than 20metres to qualify.
I think they are still messing around with refining the parameters!

gracesmum Fri 18-Jan-13 21:03:47

Oh I am not saying that I had privileged access to information but it made all the difference - and I was and am grateful. I might have to wait a bit before starting a thread though.......................hmm
How is the boiler?

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 20:59:18

Gracesm I help anyone if my knowledge can be of assistance. I only point people to the appropiate law!
