Right. Having now consulted one of the many lawyers that one keeps tripping over on the tribunal buildings, I find out I can cancel the contract with corgi. That means I can sign up with British gas who will hopefully sort my system out fot me as well.

jeni if you haven't found a plumber to help you yet, try Checkatrade online. That's what we did when we had a new boiler fitted and it worked out well. Though I know they will all probably have a waiting time at the moment.

Dear jeni I do hope your wonky plumbing is soon sorted. In the meantime:
A pipe burst in a doctor’s house. She called a plumber. The plumber arrived, unpacked her tools, did strange plumber-type things for an hour, and handed the doctor a bill for £600.The doctor exclaimed, “This is ridiculous! I don’t even make that much as a doctor!.”
The plumber waited for her to finish and then replied….. “No, neither did I when I was a doctor!”

Jeni do remember that excessive liquid internal central heating can misfire as it misinforms the brain that external heating is not required.

I have emailed my daughter in Bristol to ask whether she knows of any reliable plumbers. When she gets back to me I shall pass on any recommendations.
