We haven't had any post since last Thursday. Our postie doesn't come down the farm road when it snows so we won't get any until the thaw. I do hope he's not saving up the junk.

We have had no interruptions to our postal deliveries despite living in a village - as celeb says flowers to some posties !

well I was very pleased to get my referral letter yesterday, but we did not have any post today!!

our road is awful so flowers to postal people.

Hi harrigran.

I have had no take away shop leaflets since the snow but I find it strange how many drop through the door from shops which are 8+ miles away.
Who would want to drive 8 miles to fetch an Indian take away when there are 7 I can think of within 2 miles.
There may be more.

We went 3 days without post but now it is coming its not worth waiting for!

You are right Hunter most of their revenue comes from mailsort so we should just be grateful it keeps our costs lower than they might be and put the junk in the recycle bin.

We have had hardly any postal deliveries but the leaflets from the take away shops still drop through the letterbox two or three times a day.

Well said Gally

About a third of my paper waste is junk mail.
If they did not deliver junk it would lose the post office revenue and put some post persons out of work.
I have said persons as a woman does deliver my post some times.

Perhaps not delivering junk mail could be made permanent!

I think I heard that a postman has died as a result of the shocking weather so not getting the usual rubbish through the letter box seems pretty small potatoes.

annodomini Tue 22-Jan-13 11:48:10

I've had my junk mail for the week, I think. But the weather here has not been extreme. Yet.

We seem to be getting our post ok but I'm sure thats not true for everyone.. my postman definately earned his 'christmas box'.

HUNTERF Tue 22-Jan-13 11:40:54

I have just spoken to my post man and due to the conditions they have only done half the round yesterday and today as they have had to walk very slow to avoid injury.
They are also trying to avoid junk mail delivery at present.
