I have just been looking at the television and they have said if we all build a snowman we will slow down the thaw on Saturday and it will help to prevent flooding.
Shall we all go out tomorrow morning and do this.
I think we should pass the message beyond Gransnet as I think they mean evertbody in the country.

Not enough snow to make a respectable snowman in Geneva but in co Durham it's been quite good not as good as about 1973 . The best snowmen ever were made by Calvin as in Calvin and Hobbs. Their neighbors would ring up and complain.

And you could write comical blogs about us when we'd gone! grin

There's an idea for you Phoenix. Open a pub!
If you did b&b as well we could all come and visit!

Riverwalk Wed 23-Jan-13 15:52:51

Absent I think Phoenix would make a lovely pub landlady wine - and sure to give us free drinks grin

Anne58 Wed 23-Jan-13 14:22:07

Ah yes, well done absent I'd forgotten that, senile old bat that I am! grin

phoenix I think Riverwalk is just referring to the Venus de Milo snow person you mentioned a few posts ago not suggesting that you have transmogrified into a landlady. grin

Anne58 Wed 23-Jan-13 09:48:01

Riverwalk do you mean Lil's or are you being all sort of enigmatic?

Elegran Wed 23-Jan-13 09:43:09

Anne58 Wed 23-Jan-13 08:57:59

I haven't got a pub! There is one that we go to, but that's in Black Torrington.

Riverwalk Wed 23-Jan-13 08:38:09

Your pub!

Anne58 Wed 23-Jan-13 08:36:24

Riverwalk what pub, where and who!?

Digby doesn't seem overimpressed with it, but Maurice has always been quite keen, in his own way!

Riverwalk Wed 23-Jan-13 08:32:43

Some very artistic people in your pub Phoenix! Are you near St Ives?

Does your dozy sorry, darling Digby like the snow?

jeni Wed 23-Jan-13 08:28:59

I can still picture Chi Chi playing with a tyre when I saw her at London Zoo on a school trip [the next time I saw her was at the Natural History Museum and I cried]. The most delightful of creatures aren't they.

Nelliemoser Tue 22-Jan-13 23:22:55

Oh Bless! You wouldn't think Pandas would play like that. It shows a sort of sense of humour.

Anne58 Tue 22-Jan-13 23:13:39

The last time we had decent snow, someone did the most gorgeous snow version of the Venus de Milo in the pub car park!

gillybob Tue 22-Jan-13 23:09:52

Go for it, Glass they would no doubt do better than the first team !

Someone has built a very fetching " snow babe" on my way to work, complete with boobies, bra and G strings! grin

Anne58 Tue 22-Jan-13 22:57:42

lovely bit of film!

Elegran Tue 22-Jan-13 22:49:17

The keepers at Ed Zoo made a snowman for Tian Tian, the female panda, with carrots for eyes, nose and buttons, and a hat of panda cake. When she found it she instantly ate the carrots and then started playing with the two large snowballs it was made of. see here

Thay are used to snow where they come from, but this was her first meeting with a snowman. She seemed to like it!

Two enormous heaps of snow from DH and neighbours clearing drives and paths. May be snowmen by tomorrow if the students are out sledging. Heavy lifting part complete, just needs the artistic effort now.
