Good news. The ladies only classes have stopped at my leisure centre.

Myself and a few other men have complained to our local leisure centre about classes which only ladies can use.
Our argument was they were not providing men only classes and if the ladies wanted ladies only classes without equivalent men only classes the ladies which use these classes should pay extra as it is a council leisure centre for everybody to use.
They have done a survey and found that none of the ladies going to these classes were bothered about men being in them.
As far as I am concerned any ladies who want ladies only classes should go to private gyms.
The membership fees are a lot higher than the local leisure centre but that is their problem.

Hi HildaW

Does it matter about having a woman being alone together?.
Thinking back most of the offices I worked in had mainly female staff. I did work in an office for about a year where there were about 20 men and 1 woman at the start but there were 3 women at the end of the year.
Women were welcome to work there but at the time very few applied.
About a year ago I heard there were 7 women and 14 men working in that office.
I have mainly been in a female environment as I has my wife and 2 daughters and I have now got 3 granddaughters.
I have got another grandchild due in March and I will not complain if it is another girl.

Sounds as though Frank is a bit too anxious not to let any women only classes on a point of principle

OOOer Frank, heaven help us if women could ever be alone together without a man to make sure they were not getting up to anything subversive!!

Hi Absent

I think it would be more difficult to make a class women only if there are men in it who go on a regular basis.
If no men attend a class if the council decides it wants some women only classes again it could probably make one of those classes women only on the basis that nobody would be affected.
That said there could always be a man intending to join the next week.

Why?

HUNTERF Thu 31-Jan-13 20:55:33

Great news.

The new man from Monday turned up tonight as promised and has also said he is going on Sunday.
I have heard that another man has joined and is now normally in a class I do not attend.
It appears there are 3 daytime classes which are man less so we must get something done about that.

I wonder if the snake in the Garden of Eden is meant to be a metaphor?

petallus Thu 31-Jan-13 14:23:11

It's just that snakes seem to rule the world.

Why do people say they are going to get engaged? If you have popped the question and given an answer, then you are - even if the ring comes later.
St Val*e*ntine has a lot to answer for.
