I fear we will be hearing more such stories as the demonic ATOS carries out its job of cutting benefits - there may well be suicides and breakdowns too.
The cost of successful appeals may well outweight the 'savings'. We all know there are cheats who should not be claiming, but at the moment it seems genuine claimants are being put under immense strain. There has to be a better way.

An employee was also banned from entering the building in his wheelchair,he had worked on the first floor for a few years and had the emergency lift near to his work station,this poor lady has been waiting since 2011 for her appeal and it has now been arranged at an office 12 miles from her home in 12 weeks time,disgraceful state of affairs.

40% of ATOS judgements have been considered to be wrong. which is incompetence on a quite staggering scale.

But they continue to receive their generous payments!

They continue to get new contracts! Including assessments for the new Personal Independence Payments. Ours is one of the pilot regions - oh joy! I think I might have to bale out of the CAB before the stream of appeals starts.

There is a pattern which started with the last Labour government, of awarding contracts repeatedly to companies which are manifestly not up to the purpose. When some MPs leave parliament, they waltz into highly paid posts with these companies. Cynical, moi?

There was a funny moment at PMQ's this week. A labour MP asked DC "Is it right ATOS has declared Richard third fit for work. Not trying to make light of the thread, it is very serious what is happening.

All tribunal buildings are supposed to be accessable.
A domicillary visit is an alternative!

Seriously, the stats say that 40% of THOSE THAT APPEAL are successful. Not that 40% are wrong.
