Hi glammanana
I certainly agree with you in respect of fire training as they will have to work together if the building catches fire.
That said there are always people moving about in the dental surgery so I think a fire would be spotted at an early stage and would be put out quickly possibly without the need to evacuate.
In respect of first aid I am not so sure.
A first aid certificate lasts for 3 years and only 1 or 2 first aiders work on a casuality so it might not be good if all the certificates expire at the same time and they have a casuality when they are all rusty.
There is another problem with the fire training.
There are 38 people working at my surgery when you include dentists, nurses some part time and receptionists.
I know 2 of them are due to retire by the end of 2013 and presumably new people will come in.
I do not know if they will run a special fire training and first aid course for them.
I don't think they will close the surgery for just 2 people.
