my inbox how do I know when I get messages

I think the recipient should always be free not to respond to a PM. I have always repliedto PMs I have received but once or twice, when I have sent a PM I have had no response and I respect the privacy of the person contacted. Even though I respond to PMs I always protect my anonymity by sticking to my online name.

I don't know if flashing would be too well received by some people nanapug

I always have an email notification of the arrival of a PM. I don't remember ever having to set up this facility.

The other forum I belong to has a facility that allows you to see whether messages you have sent have been viewed by the recipient - that's useful too.

That could be it.

Maybe I not got that set up email notification!

Or you could be like me and forget you have replyed and reply again.

Agree used to have a sign saying inbox 1 or whatever sometimes I miss messages for few days!

I have just got in to the habit of checking my inbox when I come on to GN but I think some newbies might not look. I agree something flashing would be good

Agree it would be nice also if the person being PMed replied. Maybe they have not been at the site. Or did you mean you would have liked a "That has been sent OK" message? I don't think they do that, just one to say there is a message from XXXX in your inbox.

You should get an email from Gransnet telling you that you have a PM, Mick.
I agree it would be handy if a little flashing light appeared on one's inbox on the Gransnet page as well

I get an email when anyone pms me.
