How many saga zoners ex wise are on gransnet?

I'm on both Gransnet and Fiftyplus using my old SZ name. To be quite honest I don't fit into either environment like I did in SZ. Probably because most of my SZ buddies have simply stopped with SZ's demise. I'll probably do the same before too long; simply staying on as a dormant member on both forums.

Start a thread, siversurf with a catchy name, and all the catchatters will join you. There are plenty of them on Gransnet.

I liked the catchat on SZ, but can't seem to find one here. Will keep looking.

Hi I have come over from Sagzone but I did not know what was going on until a friend of mine said people were bing rather upfront with comments. Then I went onto Fifty Plus, boy was that hard work. I only want to chat and make friends as now I am on my own since losing my lovely hubby last year. Cant get out much although I am a young 70 fit and healthy, where I live is the back of beyond as I dont drive and the buses are few are far between. Sorry if I am going on a bit but it is lonely when you have no family living in the area. Anyway after that long story I am ex Sagazone.

I've not been here long but the environment is more like Saga Circles than Saga Zone. My belief is that Sagazone was costing Saga money and they were looking for an excuse to pull the plug because the official line just doesn't hold water. There has been very little bullying recently though in the past a few outspoken people (Geomet comes to mind) were picked on by the PC brigade, sadly Saga usually sided with the PC mob. In the cut and thrust of debate there are bound to be differences, without differences there would be no debate. The present trouble started when they employed a job's worth moderator; the members banned / suspended had been posting for years with no bother until he /she started interfering. In the end merely challenging this individual was enough cause for sanction. I was never actually banned despite being vociferous in my many opinions; then I was always careful to be accurate and never used inappropriate language. They sent me warnings a telling me not challenge the moderators.

What Saga has overlooked is that for some members the zone was a really important part of their lives. Especially for those disabled or vulnerable in some. The "trouble makers" (Excluding the moderators!) will find other outlets soon enough and not suffer. Elderly housebound people wanting a kind word and a listening ear will really miss their zone friends.

I deleted for a while, it could get very acrimonious there with a clique (they knew who they were) that was a joke always used in reference to clique.

I missed it though and rejoined about six months later with the new 'andle.

Someone wants to count how many posters from the defunct Saga forum have come over to Gransnet. (God help us)
