Oh the poor little mites. Children shouldn't be a school environment for up to 12 hours. I know itwill be before and after school clubs but it's too long to be away from home each day.

And you're right GadaboutGran they be run by women who's children are having to be looked after by someone else.

Did anyone hear Womans' Hour on Tuesday when they launched this list?

I keep thinking about the person (Eve Pollard?) talking about what is needed for more women to reach the Boardroom. She included having schools open from early morning until 7.00pm for childcare. That might meet the parent's needs but would that meet the child's needs? Who would run them? - low paid women having to farm out their kids?
