Recently I have heard the names: Moth and Cobweb (friend of our GP's children,
Spade, Bicycle?????? Skywalker, Obi-Wan, Tin-Tin Jellybean and his sister Tallulah-Little- Bear, Tinkerbell and her sister Cinderella Sparkle. I understand that in France and maybe Australia these type of names are banned as first names. Any other strange ones coming up. BTW my little grandsons middle name is Danger.

I will afterwards if it's a boy,but I have to be pleased if it's a girlshock

My manager is a medium (if you believe in that sort of thing!) who says it's a boy, so we might be ok. The girl's name is lovely but QUITE unusual and definitely not something that one could yell from the back door! grin

grin Phoenix I must confess I had to read it through a couple of times before it "clicked".

There is a chap who works for one of the Local Authorities that was a client called Dylan Champion.

Nothing wrong with that really, but it always made me think half horse, half rabbit.

Having posted earlier on this thread that DD3 has picked a 'corker' of name if her baby (due 3 weeks today!!smile)is a girl, I managed to worm the boy's name out of her. Please, could you all wish, pray, or do whatever floats your boat, for it to be a boy!! Thank you. smile

Author of All quiet on the western front was Erich Maria Remarque, I think Mary or Maria crops up quite regularly as a male name.

When I was on jury service about 10 years ago the young defence barrister was called Cary Grant. I wondered if his parents were fans or just unaware!

yamyam I don't know. It was in NZ and he claimed it was a friend of a friend. But then they do always say that when telling apocryphal stories/ urban myths don't they.

An Irish Catholic friend told me that her brother's middle name is Mary. She claims it is not unusual in Ireland, but I have never heard of another.
When working in a hospital I used to hear a lot of unusual names, which would be listed with surname first, such as Rolls, Royce: Gotobed, Mary: Phanphart, Fanny (yes really!):Peachey, Cherry: Berrill, Beryl and Joyce Joyce.
