Sorry about the grammar mistakes I made... Would pay much attention to that.
"I know there are people worse off then me"
On being called Darling and Love
I need a new microwave and some advice
It is true that in most occasions we are too strict for ourselves, we ask, require and force ourselves to do so many things that we are unwilling to, why don't we being gentle to ourselves to let those annoying things go? we all should learn to set ourselves with a voice button, why not do it right now?
Let's do it together, do you?
Sorry about the grammar mistakes I made... Would pay much attention to that.
#Stansgran#, it would be great to talk about my grandparents and maternal grandparents here, they are all Chinese farmers right now, while, my grandparents were in the intellectuals family of the era, and my maternal grandparents were in the landowning family when in their childhood and teenage years in the 40s and 50s of the last century... But later, you see, our country grew great changes, for some reason they all become farmer and living their whole farming life in small village... That might be a little dramatic...You see, farmers are not well-guaranteed by the government in China, really hope they can have a easy life, which is what I am fighting for right now... I would talk more stories about them if you will
.. but guess that would be silhouette of the sufferings of the generation in our country...
Thanks Butty and Jadey, I love all advice j08 much sincerely, I love her indeed, she is so straightforward and kind-hearted, it is very grateful for her kindness!!
I checked the click she recommended, and found it a great source to learn, thanks very much sincerely!
Greatnan, have to admit that all I can say right now is much thanks!!! It is very touched to hear about your words, Many thx!! I am sure your French would be excellent after years of living in France, environment is very important for acquiring a second language, I am sure you can do it in French!
Japanese is my second foreign language(can speak a little
), it is a pity that I did not choose french as my second foreign language when there was a chance in my college, well, I would have a try no that later as well
. Come on, pretty sure you can learn French as excellent as you wish!!

Mercedes, I think your English is very good - you clearly have an 'ear' for languages. I wish my French was as good after years of living in France.
I would also be very interested to hear more about your life. If you have any special difficulties with certain rules of English grammar, please do ask us here about it, as many of us are retired teachers and love a chance to teach again!
of her
PS I love the fact that she, jo8, does not care what other people think.
mercedes j08 is the jester and I personally love that, she cheers us all up on a regular basis---please do not take offence she means no harm x
Yes, I'd like to hear all your news as well.
Hope your exams went well Mercedes and now you are back on line it will be interesting to hear about your life. Perhaps you could tell us about your grandparents and a day in their lives or perhaps what your immediate family is like.
Thanks everyone, have to admit that I am a little embarrassed to ask for so many encouraging words from all of you after such a not that happy discussion here.. j08, annodomini, kittylester , Gally, merlotgran,Bags, Joan, Galen, Movedalot, Stansgran, NannaAnna, Ana,Elegran Tegan yogagran Grannyeggs Jadey etc. Thanks for all of your advice listed and posted here, any suggestion that can help improve my colloquial would very appreciated very ardently! Having spend much time on making the last preparation for the incoming exams in my rural hometown where network is far away from daily life after those short-period interpretation programs, with family members! That such a short period about ten days since I posted here seems so long a period for me to log in here again. Tomorrow would be the time to test recent learning and practicing, guess in future I would log in very frequently!
Please do not be bothered.
I believe being a women comes with being extremly hard on ourselves, constantly telling ourselves that we have failed as Mothers etc.
I am with you, I do think we should give ourselves a break, but the question is, will we?.
I am not as bad as I used to be and handle things much better now by accepting certain things.
Great opening post Mercedes, you have inspired me, so I 'm not doing my per work, or ironing I' m being kind to me! I' m going for a walk in the glorious sunshine soon.
We are very happy to have you mercedes do you want us to correct your English so that it becomes more colloquial?
And we are happy to have you here, Mercedes.
Felt no doubt to say thanks for everyone for all of your warm helping! People on this forum really touch me, teach me a lot, thanks for your help sincerely again!!!
Just saved enough to transfer my grandfather to a relatively better hospital by taking some interpretation and translation projects introduced by those warm people, guess he would get better soon.
Thanks for your help sincerely again, well, I would not give up learning and practicing English here, would log in and chat with you guys here frequently! Very very very happy to be here!
I think that mercedes is very welcome on GN - a much more gentle forum for her that MN. Her obvious love and respect for her grandparents is a real delight.
And the phrase that you use mercedes "don't like to be swirled into quarrels" is extremely poetic and descriptive. I shall remember that
mercedes you are very welcome to use us to practice your English and to learn about the way grandparents here (mainly in the UK but some elsewhere) think and feel. Your own grandparents are lucky to have such a kind and thoughtful granddaughter.
Mercedes, some of us are ESOL teachers and if you need any help with aspects of English, I, for one, would be happy to help you.
Think this is a much more suitable site for Mercedes to practice her English and we can learn more about her country as well.
Elegran!
#spoilsport #inatthedeependalwaysbestreally
mercedes in English it is offspring not spring for children. You say that you are trying to learn English so I did not think you would mind me correcting you.
But you might learn some unsuitable words from them! They swear a lot more than we do on Gransnet, (but sometimes we do)
MercedesYang you really should try Mumsnet! Much more your age group. I am sure you would get along fine.
here it is
Thanks, NannaAnna for your warm words, it makes me fell better!
THANKS everyone for your opinions sincerely, I am not able to understand completely all of your opinions posted here from the current English proficiency, sorry about that.
I was here by accident when searching an appropriate source for learning to enhance my English. Gradually found it is a forum that is related with our grans, originally thought I should not be here due to the reason that my grans were not living with me, but the fact is that I have grandmother and grandfather, I love them very much, especially when my grandfather is very sick and right now he is in hospital and perhaps it is his last period in the world, I do not mention any of them before just in the thought that only when I am qualified enough to use my English skills earning enough to ask for a better doctor for him, can I repay their kindness for me. You know, China is not like UK, elder people in village are mainly raised by their springs not the government (though the government tried measures to change the situation, most of them didn't work effectively), I was raised by my grands, it is my obligation to do something for them. It is very happy here to see all of you talking about your daily life, things that you care about, annoy you, touch you, and it is truly of great pleasure to be here indeed, I love my grands, I love to be with grands here, it makes me felt warm. Since it is a place that I can feel free and warm to talk about,
As for the irregular login issue, I do not spend all my time on internet, I have to work, I have to learn, I have to take care of my bad situation relatives in real life. I do not have much time login here very frequently. I posted just wanna to talk with you about the things that I though about, I love opinions from grands, and I love discussion, if that bothers you, please just ignore it, or show your unsatisfying opinions for my posts in a respect way to point it out, not ironical methods, I accept reasoning opinions and justified recommendation, but not harsh and tricky words, I don't like to be swirled into quarrels. Thanks very much.
As for the profile issue, when I was first here, I did not complete it as well, someone remind me to do that, then I realized it was appropriated to show my polite for others who join my discussion by firstly complete my profile, it is not an attack, just a respect for others as far as I am concern.
Thanks guys here, I am not here to advertise or to attack links as some of you have thought about, I am here to communicate, to learn, and to care about things that are in fact not far away from people who live in the eastern end of the world.
Thanks everyone for reading the post so patiently, my sincere thanks for you always, hope all of you have a nice day!

MercedesYang you are completely right.
We should be kind to ourselves for the sake of our wellbeing - physical, emotional and spiritual.
It is also impossible to be kind to others if we are not kind to ourselves (in the same way that one cannot love others if they do not first love themselves)
Good luck with your English, and keep posting
