She asked me when I was going to move out and let my father's ex take the house.
She did go but she might have physical force used against her if she comes back.

I do not want to be the one to burst your balloon Lully , I do not think people ^ Rise ^ to his bait , I think everyone is having a damn good time .

Perhaps that is just me ! We are all having a good "laff", I believe him included.

That's part of his charm. I don't think I mock him, although I certainly tease him - he's very funny in his own way. I like him.

j08 Thu 21-Mar-13 17:21:01

Yes. But he was entitled to his point of view. (about the ladies only classes)

It just seems that now, everything he says is mocked.

But he never seems fazed by it. I'll give him that!

Ana Thu 21-Mar-13 17:18:53

When Frank first posted about being harassed about the house after his father died we certainly did sympathise, Jingl. It all started to unravel a bit with the Ladies Only Classes being cancelled thread...

soop Thu 21-Mar-13 17:18:03

He's a tinker boots grin

LullyDully Thu 21-Mar-13 17:15:59

what I find interesting is how everyone rises to his bait and how often he throws the bait! wink

Nonu Thu 21-Mar-13 17:14:47

Who the devil knows , I sure don"t .

Just find it all soo amusing , better than too much back-biting

I agree with you, Enviousamerican - although Frank does show a glimmer of a sense of humour on occasion...wink

soop Thu 21-Mar-13 17:13:51

Jing Frank is Frank, and as such, I enjoy his quirkiness. smile

j08 Thu 21-Mar-13 17:11:40

I wonder, if it was a woman posting Frank's threads, whether she would be mocked. Or sympathised with.

Nonu Thu 21-Mar-13 17:10:50

Envious , some of the time .

If frank wasn't real, wouldn't he post more interesting comments?Im new and have seen Frank's postings and do enjoy them but he does sound like a man. Then again,I've always been a little naive and have had my leg easily pulled. Where as you guys are smart cookies!!

soop Thu 21-Mar-13 15:17:16

Nonu Me too. grin

Nonu Thu 21-Mar-13 14:08:15

God Nooo can"t ban frank , he/she is such a tonic , LOL soo much [smile

dorsetpennt Thu 21-Mar-13 09:30:36

Banned from a club! Haha that really made me laugh, I'm sorry it did. I can just imagine the meeting that was held to discuss your banning and the show of hands that ended it. smile . I don't mean to be cruel or nasty but some of the things you come up with, and I think you say things for their effect, it's a wonder that you aren't 'banned' from this forum.

Greatnan

I think this case is going to frizzle out before it gets to court.
I don't know the laws in New Zealand but in the UK:
The fact that she said that he told her he would leave her everything would not count as there is no such thing as a verbal will even if there are witnesses.
Normally the person would have to have been living with the deceased for 2 years immediately before the death for the claimant to say they had any dependency on them which may allow a claim.
If the landlady is willing to testify as a witness to what the deceased said about her being a gold digger this will weaken the claimants case.
If there is anything in the house belonging to the lady she would be entitled to it but she would have to give details of the item before the house will be checked.
If the item is not in the house it is unlikely she will have any recourse to the estate as they have been separated for a year.

This case is very different from my case in the fact the lady claiming my father's estate never lived in the house, the house was half owned by me and my father had made out a will with me as sole beneficiary.

Never mind it looks like I have missed a really good laugh to-day,I will look to-morrow and see what the story is through the round window ?

Ana Wed 20-Mar-13 20:44:52

Don't worry, Greatnan - I'm sure Frank's on the case at this very minute and will soon be giving you the benefit of his experience! grin

Here is a genuine story - the man who rented a cottage from a friend of my daughter died very unexpectedly. He was not married and had split from his girl friend a year or so ago. He has no children, but siblings here in NZ. He had been telling his landlady for some time that his girl friend had been a gold digger and she wasn't going to get anything further out of him. He was only 48 when he died (heart attack) and had not made a will.
The former girl friend has now turned up saying she is his sole heir and he promised to leave her everything. She said that as they had lived together for a couple of years, she was his 'de facto' partner.
I think NZ law is the same as British, in that unmarried partners, and especially ex partners, would have to prove that they had contributed in some way to the home/capital/ etc. I will be interested to see if the siblings are able to stop the girl friend getting hold of everything.

So how many of these beligerent wrinklies have there been Frank?

I used to work on the reception at a housing association and was warned that the ones to watch out for were sweet little old ladies. I have to say well dressed elderly gentlemen with hearing aids and little dogs could be pretty threatening too.

nanaej Wed 20-Mar-13 18:43:53

Frank have you go a brother called Ernest?

HUNTERF Wed 20-Mar-13 18:02:56

NfkDumpling

Two of your so called old dears are little old men and I am not displeased to see the back of them.
There may be more than 4 but that is all I have heard about.
