Do not pull a large box of washing powder off a high shelf with one hand and then lose your hold on it because it's heavier than expected so that a corner of it lands on your cheekbone. #tryingtodotwothingsatonce

Orca there is an Apple shop in Solihull, in the precinct as you say. I got my iphone there.
Have you managed to persuade Frank to meet you for morning coffee yet?grin

Butty Fri 22-Mar-13 19:30:31

Frighteningly close to the truth in this household.

Orca Fri 22-Mar-13 19:19:16

Go back to bed if: two sentimental items get broken before you have had breakfast sad GD sits in prickles while you collect the eggs hmm find a tissue has snuck into a large wash full of dark clothes confused and burn your lunch. shock Today can only get better.

Do not try to carry a new microwave down three steps in ice and snow - microwave dropped but was unharmed thanks to horrible but useful polystyrene packaging. Greatnan felt a right fool in front of new French neighbours and had sore knees.
From DD1 - do not let excitable dogs drag you down a slipply slope so you break your ankle. (And after all the warning she gave me about slipping whlst walking in the Alps.)

Orca Fri 22-Mar-13 00:04:29

Thanks Galen I'd better try and get it repaired, on the quiet, if I can. It was a Christmas present from my son.

Gally Thu 21-Mar-13 23:56:02

Ouch Bags - arnica to the rescue? Hope it's ok in the morning.

Do not climb a ladder whilst holding a spare microwave and try to put it on top of a cupboard. It could be quite expensive in osteopath's fees ...... [silly Gally emoticon] - the microwave survived though!

Hunt Thu 21-Mar-13 23:28:25

Do not take a plastic bottle of tomato sauce from a high shelf and drop it on the quarry-tiled floor of your larder. No one was hurt but boy, did it look as if there had been a massacre.

Galen Thu 21-Mar-13 23:17:30

No . I haven't had that problem myself. But,I do know it can be done!
Phone you local apple to ask.
If you are interested I am thinking of selling my I pad with retinal display 32 m as I've now got the mini!

Orca Thu 21-Mar-13 23:03:40

Galen did you have to take it to an Apple shop? How long did it take and can you remember the cost?

I'm in Solihull next week and I see think is an Apple shop in the shopping precinct there. I've taped the front up with Sellotape to be going on with!

Galen Thu 21-Mar-13 22:34:06

Yes. But it's not cheap!

Orca Thu 21-Mar-13 22:30:51

I've cracked the screen of my iPad. It still works, for the moment. Has anyone else done this and if so can it be fixed?
Do not put a mug of coffee down on your iPad thinking its a coaster!

Galen Thu 21-Mar-13 22:09:13

Ouch!

JessM Thu 21-Mar-13 22:08:04

Do not keep leaving the door of the dishwasher open because sooner or later you will walk into it, removing the skin from shin despite 2 layers of trousers. Scabby lasts so long at 61.

Galen Thu 21-Mar-13 21:29:59

Lucky you!

Greatnan Thu 21-Mar-13 21:27:42

I thought ordering me to live in New Zealand was taking it a bit far though! smile

Galen Thu 21-Mar-13 21:25:22

grin

Greatnan Thu 21-Mar-13 21:24:22

Galen - just what my bossy daughter says!

Galen Thu 21-Mar-13 21:17:42

Both of you are daft old bats! Need a minder!

Anne58 Thu 21-Mar-13 21:12:47

Do not attempt to open a wall mounted kitchen cupboard when for reasons known only to himself, your husband has put a very large and heavy paint roller on top of it.

Similarly do not attempt to hang a jacket on the hook in a friends garage where they have placed a lawn rake directly above it.

I would go further and suggest that you do not do both of these things on the same day. confused

Yours,

Cut, bruised and lumpy bonce of Devon.

Greatnan Thu 21-Mar-13 21:00:07

I can add to that advice - do not try to lift a very hot bowl of porridge out of a microwave oven and then drop it on your chest! The scars are just a few white patches now!

glassortwo Thu 21-Mar-13 20:46:37

Ouch bags flowers

Marelli Thu 21-Mar-13 20:30:08

Bags, you'll have a 'keeker' tomorrow! My hands seem to ache a lot of the time, too. It's like toothache sometimes. You'll know the next time - BOTH hands! xx
