Just spotted 3 women and 2 men in tracksuits running along the pavements.
Are they mad?.

If they are in season you can shoot them while they are running, but not if they have stopped to bend over and breathe heavily, while gasping 'OMG' and 'Never again!'.

They take a bit of cleaning to make them edible - all that sweat... I recommend a casserole.

There is about 6 inches of snow around here.
Do you have a gun and want to come and shoot them?.

I would suggest heavy marination before cooking.

Orca Sun 24-Mar-13 09:32:13

Yes, they can be a bit stringy.

Are you saying we should shoot all the women who are doing Race for Life to raise money for CRUK.
In my view that would be very silly.

Why are they no men running? That's all wrong – get out there and sort 'em out. The risk of being shot is minimal.

Orca I suggest a slow cooker,8 hrs on medium setting should be OK.grin

Race for life is a 5km ladies race to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and it is the biggest fund raiser.
I do things like help set up the equipment etc and my 2 daughters run it and help with marshalling at races they are not running in.
Andie joins in it and walks round with my daughters.
They put a pink ribbon on him even though he is a male dog.
He is raising funds for doggy cancer research but I add his sponsorship money to my daughters.
My oldest granddaughter will run in it soon.

Frank, don't even think about shooting the runners in case my DD is one of them. In any case with all the good works you do it might spoil your chance of a saint or knighthood.

glammanana Sun 24-Mar-13 10:09:15

Thats us told what Race for Life is all about.Frank do you think we are all stupid and do not get involved ourselve's,you are not the only person whose family are participating.

Orca Sun 24-Mar-13 10:10:30

Glam and boil the bones up for soup?

HUNTERF Sun 24-Mar-13 10:14:59

Hi ginny

I don't want to shoot the runners.
I want them to come back next year to raise more money for CRUK.
No I don't think I deserve any knighthood.
All I want is to do my bit to get rid of cancer.

Plenty of men running round here. #quitenice

Having since been out, and having spotted droves of people trotting along the roads it can only be a charity event. The OP just mentioned seeing a few runners, and yes, there are a few hardy souls who obviously enjoy it, hammering along in the opposite direction to the charity runners...

Did I detect a note of disapproval in the subsequent posts? Tsk tsk, naughty old me and my levity, eh?

Stansgran Sun 24-Mar-13 18:28:35

Human bones make glue better than soup. Too sweet.

absent Sun 24-Mar-13 19:23:01

Stansgran Goodness me. How do you know that?

shysal Sun 24-Mar-13 19:46:05

Why have you not protested Frank, as it is a ladies - only race? I think you should join them to make a point. After all, you must be fit after all those Bums and Tums classes.

DS is on a running programme. He has tapes and instructions and carefully follows them. He went running today and said it was HORRIBLE and he doesn't have any snow where he is. Still he has lost 21 lbs since starting his programme just after Christmas.
