Beware soft play!! Took DGS to soft play the other day with DD. All went well, he enjoyed himself and we sat down for half an hour and watched. Then it was time to leave - we were ready, he wasn't and wouldn't come out - he's 2 1/2. DD is heavily pregnant so it was up to Granny to save the day, went in and managed to work my way to DGS, at that point I realised I couldn't get out, had to pull myself up a ramp type thing and turn a corner at the top, DGS escaped and I thought that softplay would have to be dismantled around meblush. Enentually managed to pull myself out. DGS was frogmarched to the car and I left with a red face.

Forzanna for me that would be the stuff of nightmares. I love my grandson dearly, but for love nor money I would NOT go into a soft play area.

I will bear that warning in mind for the future when DGS is big enough for such things.
I remember more than once picking his mum up and removing her screaming with outrage, from play grounds and swimming pools. grin

Oh, I can remember - no I can't, but think it was at Marwell - they have a big sort of concrete mound that is a replica of a rabbit warren. So it's full of interlinked tunnels through which the children can crawl. DGD1, aged about three, belted in there and I waited.....Ended up on all fours shouting into the blasted thing (it was too small for me to go in.)

She eventually emerged "I met a new friend and we've been having a bunnies' party, Nannie."

I can certainly empathise with that situation. But I don't like heights or being confined in small spaces - I've not particularly small myself!!! So I asked a dad to get him out - a risk I know in this day and age; but a calculated risk - this knight seemed to leap at the chance to have a go and everyone was happy except the grumpy GS smile.

DD1 had to rescue her ds aged 20 months at the top of a slide in a soft play centre: she arrived at the bottom with soaking wet socks and trousers as the small girl in front of her had peed on the way down shock
