Happy Good Friday Everyone!
Still cold on the south coast but finally, a bit of sunshine!
Morning all, cold but bright here in North Leicestershire. Maybe spring is here!
We had quite heavy rain in the night but the sun is now out. OH will be glad as he can back to his veg patch
I have got 2 of my granddaughters today as Mum is at work.
They want to go for a walk in the park, then go to the Harvester for lunch and see if there are any Easter eggs in the shop for me to buy them.
My other granddaughter will get an Easter egg at some point but her brother or sister who is due to arrive tomorrow will possibly not.
It is my birthday on Sunday but nothing has been arranged due to our expected arrival.

Another day, another dollar was one of my mother in laws favourite sayings, not sure why, but it is indeed another day, and the weather is not as bright as it has been. I ache all over after my first game of bowls for about 6 weeks, yesterday, but enjoyable. The other half feeling fine after his heart procedure (it wasn't an op, and the hospital call it a 'procedure') Keeping him in check now - remininding him of his age!
Good Friday morning all, we are going for a long (well long for us at the moment) walk to check out age of hedges!!!!! There is a threat to our Greenway of buildings being erected and we need all the information we can gather. We have an extensive list of Red Data Book species of fauna and flora. This is not Nimbyism but the constant threat to green sites, the building on prime farm land when we need this and the definite threat to our wildlife is of primary importance. So if we find a Tudor hedge then this is all to the good! wish us luck.
After this we are picking up my mother for a jolly fish and chip lunch.
Saturday - I am taking my 4 year old GS to the cinema for his first time. £1 at kids club and a good film.
Daughter, son-in-law and little GS coming for roast (vege roast for them)
Sunday - Roast leg of lamb, slow cooked for mum - again, DDH and DDS
Monday - Charlie and the Chocolate Egg Hunt at another DDS's home, my DiL loves organising these events and they are always fun.
Must fast though, maybe on Monday. I am on the 5:2 Diet and find it really good. Difficult at Easter with all the chocolate around!
What a lovely feeling it is to wake up on a Friday and realise that you don't have to drag yourself out of bed to go to work. Bliss. Don't know what to do today
( how good is that? ) sun is shining here on the NE coast so might go beach combing today instead of my usual Sunday.
Whatever your plans are I hope you have a good day.
Flower before we moved West, we lived on the edge of a new town, surrounded by 'green belt'. That green belt is now hidden under not very green houses. Good luck with your campaign.
Sunny and a teeny bit warmer here in Dorset - had my hot cross bun for breakfast. Shame that we can get them all year round now. As a child in Canada I'd never seen them. When we came back when I was 9 and my brother 6 we stayed with my grandparents. On Good Friday my grandmother sent us down to the local baker in the village to pick up the hot cross buns for the family. The only time of year you could get them and we loved it. We missed that so much when we left the country again.
It's also my son's 37th birthday and I'm more proud of him then I can say.
Happy Easter everyone, hurray the sun is shining here today, we saw it yesterday doesnt it make you feel better. Still very cold.
Off to see FIL as usual on Good Friday and have fish and chip lunch (well I wont have the chips) then a dreaded couple of hours at the hairdressers.
But have a lovely day planned tomorrow with DH we are going into town as he needs a new tie for the wedding next Saturday then going down to the Quayside for a wander and visit the Baltic, then lunch and wander home at some point.
Have a good weekend.
dorset happy birthday to your DS.
I'm still full after going for lunch with an old friend yesterday, followed by being taken out for dinner by my son and his family!
Talk about feast or famine!
Anyway I intend to have a hot, cross bun for my breakfast with lots of butter, and to hell with it
It's beautiful in my corner of Cheshire, the sun is shining and the church bells are ringing.
Happy Easter everyone
I was hoping to get back into walking after two months during which I have put on 5 lbs. (my daughter is a wonderful cook!) but it is snowing heavily here in the Alps. I am still partly on New Zealand time, having read until 3 a.m. and woken at 8 am. so I am going to catch up on TV, read my four issues of Private Eye and snuggle under the duvet.
To those of you who celebrate Easter,I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Eldest DS + DiL, DGS and DGD coming up the A1 for a visit and lunch at our house today, haven't seen them for a few weeks - looking forward to chat and chaos
Youngest DS + family coming on Sunday until Monday, so it's a full-on family Easter! Chatting as usual to DD in NZ on Sunday - she and her DH and DGDs will be missed by us all.
Easter wishes to everyone!
Congratulations to your DS dorset. My DS was 37 last week but we haven't celebrated with him yet .He was on a stag "do" in Zagreb for his birthday. Hope to see him over Easter. Wish we were in your neck of the woods today ! Have a good Easter.
