Good Morning Easter Sunday

I'm sure plenty of women have carried the cross in the walk before, but apparently not in our town. When you read the Gospels you find the women playing quite a large part.

That's the sort of feminist I am - I want to share the privileges of men and I expect to share the work.

We had a cross made from the remains of the Christmas Tree at Easter Sunday service. Very dead and bare - then the children decorated it with flowers and it became a symbol of new life.

I took part in the Good Friday walk of witness. After the first stage the minister who was organising asked for two strong men to carry the cross for the second stage. The woman I was talking to and I had our hands up before anyone else! "Oh - or two strong women." He later said it was the first time as far as he knew that the cross had been carried by women.

Happy Easter to you all .i have now seen blue sky on three consecutive da us. It's been worth the wait. Spring is here and I'm going away and will miss it. But I don't mind as we will be a bit warmer in the Med

Bright, sunny but cold in Leicestershire this morning. Just waiting for DD1 and family plus DS1 to arrive for lunch but they are visiting Persie on the way and seem to have stalled there.

Just back from my grandsons' Easter Egg Hunt. Two excited little boys, stuffed full of chocolate and Haribo sweets. They were given clues which they got spectacularly wrong, so turfed the contents of mum's knicker drawer onto her bed, rummaged through the dirty washing that had just been put in the washer, then burst out of the front door onto the lawn to be greeted by next door's two little boys doing the same thing. 'Morning' said neighbour dad, 'I see your two nutters are as full of sugar as mine!' Very funny morning

Sunny and cold. Just realised the boilers gone off, rebooted it!

Bags, nothing wrong with my throat, I just can't sing - totally tone deaf, I think. Not cutting grass, the other half tells me that the radio gardening show has just said that it is far to early to cut grass - so any excuse to get back to the cross word, sitting in the sun - roast all ready. Husband much brighter this morning. Thanks to you all for your kind thoughts.

One daffodil opening its face looking for the sun here. We did some grass cutting before the snow because it has been so dry all month. That's so rare here we have to take advantage of it for mowing. Took the scythe to patches of rushes too. I might do some more today.

As for cutting the grass - we still have piles of snow dotted about the garden, there will be no grass cutting for several weeks methinks.

It's a glorious sunny morning here in Cheshire. Just come back from a brisk walk with the hounds, The church bells are ringing, music to my ears.

What a beautiful day here in Essex, not a cloud in the sky and lovely sunshine. Celebrating Easter Sunday and DGS 18th birthday with a big family party. I've done him a memory book of photos and 18 presents to unwrap (family tradition) and an Easter egg 'lucky dip' for everyone. (try tying strings round Easter eggs!) Hope you all have a lovely day. Don't think we'll be in the garden though.

OH! What a beautiful morning, - I could go on, but my voice is awful - the sky is a clear blue, and the sun shining as it should on the first day of summer. Had a rotten day yesterday, my husband not well at all, and had to go to hospital for a check up - we just think he is over-medicated now, since his heart procedure on Monday, so fingers crossed - off to cut the grass.

Grey here in France - yesterday it rained on and off most of the day. I think we may see the sun later, but we are going out to lunch with friends so the day should be enjoyable anyway.
