Pictures of abandoned places

I have often sailed around the Forts in the Estuary. They are really spooky.

Eureka! Managed to access the images. When we were looking around Kintyre for a possible plot, we came across a wee derelict cottage, very like the one in the Kerry Way photo. It did sell and a very sweet cottage now stands on the site, with open views of the sea. I also like the shed in the lake. Thanks, Bags

Fascinating pics.

A local photographer did some interesting ones once - she went round the country photographing the view from dedicated benches - you know the ones with a plaque that says in memory of someone. They were intriguing as of course many of them had ceased to have a "view" and were overlooking motorways, housing estates etc, instead of the original beautiful vista.

If a picture could tell a story.

Very evocative photos, but Bodiam isn't "abandoned" in my book. Like most British monuments, much too carefully preserved to qualify.

Such a poignant set of photos. I wonder what stories these images hold.
There they sit, a part of history, yet still alive.

No.8 Kerry Way looks just like the tumbled down house just around the corner from me.

Chesapeake bay.

The house in Cheaspeake bay grabs my attention most. That is a fantastic image.

There is a sadness about some of them, isn't there, but what I love is how Nature takes over if we let it. I find the pictures of trees growing in old boats and old streets quite encouraging, and the seaweeds (or is it mosses?) on the Jesus statue too.

I got them, thank you Bags, but, although beautiful, I also found most of them very sad.
