Hope it sells soon.

Butty Fri 05-Apr-13 10:30:29

Oh thanks, Elegran. I hadn't though of that! Great idea.

Elegran Fri 05-Apr-13 09:34:26

Butty Put your house in the listings of one (or all!) of the Gransnet Local sites. It is FREE and if you then mention on the forums that it is listed, everyone will go take a look. The more the merrier.

Soop, just been reading the posts about you leaving. I am distraught, WHERE are you going? Had no idea you were planning a move. Glad to hear Rory making good progress, Henry sends lots of purrs, actually he never purrs, Im wondering if he has a purr box. flowers

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 18:15:29

Ooer, Butty...we could be neighbours. I'd like that very much. smile

Butty Thu 04-Apr-13 17:44:34

Wish I could sell this, soop! As for buying anything back in England - it's going to be v. tight. Scotland however.......wink...now there's a thought.

Good on yer! xx

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 15:48:14

Upheaval! hmm

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 15:46:50

number When the time comes, we shall be sad to leave. However, we plan to have some very happy times in the orchard house...especially if there's a little dosh left over after all the upheavel. A wee break in the Highlands would be a real treat. We've been wanting to do just that, for nigh on ten years...

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 15:41:19

Slainte! Bags...looking forward to a blether. smile

numberplease Thu 04-Apr-13 15:40:48

So pleased you got a favourable valuation Soop, now fingers crossed for an early buyer, although I shouldn`t think that you`re in an actual rush to leave there, I know I wouldn`t be!

Bags Thu 04-Apr-13 15:19:18

That sounds like good news, soop. Definitely worth raising a glass to tomorrow smile. Next step... someone to buy your home.

glassortwo Thu 04-Apr-13 14:27:17

Promising soop oh already on the look out, you might not even get the board up with a bit of luck smile a wee dram is needed after all the work you have put in these past few weeks to get everything ready.

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 14:23:48

glass smile When he returns to his office, the agent will contact a lady "down south" who has been looking for a wee holiday home in this area for some time. She has friends living in Tarbert, a 14 mile drive away.

I feel a wee dram may be enjoyed after six o'clock.

glassortwo Thu 04-Apr-13 14:13:07

soop fantastic smile sunshine I hope you have lots prospective buyers knocking your door down.

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 14:08:34

Your good wishes have worked like a charm. Thank you. flowers

The weather is also in our favour. Glorious sunshine helping to make the most of the views of the islands. Lots of photos taken. sunshine

The men have just left, and the verdict is in favour of an asking price that would certainly enable us to proceed. Of course, we now need viewers who are prepared to pay the suggested price. The For Sale board will be in situ on Tuesday.

I think that we shall have to raise a glass of wine tomorrow lunchtime, Bags...wink

Elegran Thu 04-Apr-13 12:57:14

Hope all will be well, soop fingers crossed for you.

harrigran Thu 04-Apr-13 12:40:19

Fingers crossed soop smile

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 10:58:40

Thanks, Butty I'm off to brew coffee and pop a plate of choc biscuits on the table. I feel sick [with nerves]. I keep thinking...what if...and it really doesn't help.

Butty Thu 04-Apr-13 10:54:41

soop Fingers crossed you receive good news!! Waiting.......

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 10:52:38

Bags He's here! The valuation figure will be crucial to whether or not we can go ahead as planned. I shall come back with either a smile or a sad response later in the morning. Rory couldn't care less. wink

Bags Thu 04-Apr-13 10:39:05

Rooting for you, soop!

Bags Thu 04-Apr-13 10:38:21

vegas grin That was commonly my experience when I lived in Edinburgh. Such wind! Got stuff dry though, or at least to the stage where it only needed an airing in the house. As a friend once said, she could tell when it was summer because I put my clothes horse away wink

soop Thu 04-Apr-13 10:37:22

Another sunny day in Kintyre. The man who will provide us with the 'home information pack' and the estate agent will be here very soon. I've done all that I can to present our wee home at its best. Now feel like a wet rag! Rory decided to use his litter tray a few moments ago...he'd been on a long walkabout in the garden, but waited until he came indoors to do the business. All sorted! hmm grin

vegasmags Thu 04-Apr-13 10:19:01

Bright and breezy here in Manchester. Have just hung out my washing Bags - so windy it was like wrestling with the top gallants (or whatever) in Hornblower!
