I have decided us pensioners should keep our money for possible care fees.

That will resolve the care fees problem.
Warner's would go out of existence as most of their customers are pensioners.
My local garage sales would drop as they have told me pensioners buy a lot of new cars.
Local pubs and restaurants will do little business at lunch time Monday to Friday.
Grandchildren will not get Christmas presents or any other presents from the grandparents.
And the list goes on an on.
But there would be no problems funding care fees.

I quite like the idea of hotels with no kids. #muckyherberts. shock

Keep what money I've got for care - what a silly idea.
I'm not thinking that far ahead. I've worked hard all my life and am B'well going to enjoy life now. If there's not enough money in my flat when I get to that stage - hard cheese.

As today is the last day of the tax year, I would think Frank was possibly looking at financial products ie Isas?

Moved so do Hotel Chocalate!

To confuse this confused thread further -

DH (an exile from the next town) informs me that it should be a BLUE pill - also tells me that when people went loopy they were carted off in the 'wee YELLOW van' whereas here we would send for the 'wee WHITE van' to collect them. We are agreed however that criminals were arrested and stuffed into a BLACK Maria, but neither of us has any idea where the Maria (Marr- I - Ah) comes from - does anyone know? #nowlookingforbluepills

We went for a Segway trip in the grounds of a Warner Hotel, it seems they do a lot of 60s weekends. Just imagine being stuck with a load of old people for a weekend? Saga have a Saga only hotel in St Lucia, not for me thanks.

Earners are this hotels where it is adults only - no children. I hate the idea! Of no children, I mean. I like seeing them around in hotels.

gracesmum It's not really anything to with anything – including Product reviews. I think it's meant to be funny but I'm not sure.

shysal Fri 05-Apr-13 12:10:39

Must be the Warners holiday company, I think.

gracesmum Fri 05-Apr-13 12:10:17

Still confused as to how this has anything to do with Product reviews

The OP doesn't, I think, mean Warner Brothers as in films but I have no idea who these Warners are that I am apparently subsidising.

Count me in too, shysal and anno. The inheritance I will be leaving consists of the things that money can't buy. Same as my parents left me.

annodomini Fri 05-Apr-13 10:30:19

With you there, shysal. My family are very good to me and if there's anything left when I shuffle off, they are welcome to it. The GC are bright and resourceful and will be well equipped to make their way in the world, just as their parents are doing.

Every penny of my pension is spent on basic living expenses. Sorry Frank, I cannot afford to save my pension!

Very droll.

Galen It was me with the 'purple pills'. Used to be quite an often heard saying perhaps based on the pills issued to soldiers and spies going into dangerous situations in WW1.

j08 Thu 04-Apr-13 23:46:46

I haven't got the purple pills! Granny23 has.

Galen Thu 04-Apr-13 23:32:12

Jing
Purple pils?
Do you mean Purple Hearts?
They were amphetamines in my youth.
If that's what you mean, you'd get high as a kite after a couple and forget?

gracesmum Thu 04-Apr-13 23:27:21

How is this a product review??

j08 Thu 04-Apr-13 23:15:32

Just keep on keeping fit.

And breathing.

j08 Thu 04-Apr-13 23:14:47

Granny23 Thu 04-Apr-13 23:14:13
