Good to see you safely home Gally. Beautiful day here, 8 degrees this afternoon, quite a lot of people in town.

Gally Sat 06-Apr-13 17:03:46

Thanks! Good, in one way to be home. The sun has been shining all day which has eased me back gently although getting used to the bitter cold is difficult! I am going to book my flights soon for November........ wink

I hope so too.

Our dry spell is over. Glad I got Dh to mow the boggiest bit of the garden this morning. There may not be another chance for a looooong time.

Not heard from her. Hope she's ok!

Welcome home, Gally.
Yes, Bags the lenticular clouds are bedecking our sky too. wink
A lovely day. Have been helping out in the village hall. It is the Clachan Flower Festival this weekend. The flower displays are stunning. The community, 'though small, is blest with a number of talented people. flowers

Welcome back, Gally. I hope you have brought us some of that Aussie sunshine. Lovely morning here in Cheshire though it's been -4 overnight. Now it's a balmy 3 degrees and rising. Was eating my breakfast when I felt a crunch which wasn't recognisable as cereal. Investigation revealed two large pieces of filling, leaving a massive molar an empty shell. Oh dammit! Grrr! I'll have to book an appointment with my dentist next week. I think some of my fillings are at least half a century old!

Dorset is full of sunshine today - morning all - I'm off into the garden for the first time in ages.
Didn't know we had Kookaburras in the UK grin - what do they sound like? Hope one day to find out for myself.

Temperatures fell to -5 here in Oxfordshire. I have been up since 6.00 as DS and family arrive later today fro a one week stay. DGC are 2 and 5 so it is going to be chaos. I have a long living room so I have concentrated the seating around the fire, it is going to be needed this weekend so that they have a large clear play area.

Menus and outings are planned but by this time next week I will be waving them good by with mixed feelings of sadness and relief as I return the house to normal sit down and relax.

Greatnan Sat 06-Apr-13 08:01:47

Welcome back, Gally - yes, it is a shock to the system, isn't it? I had a long walk yesterday by the side of a still-frozen lake. The only sounds were my boots crunching on the snow and the gushing of the streams and waterfalls which are beginning to fill up from the melting which happens every time the sun shines. It was very beautiful to be alone in that white world, but jolly cold!

Bags Sat 06-Apr-13 07:55:12

Welcome home, gally! [Scottish sunshine emoticon]

Ella46 Sat 06-Apr-13 07:47:06

Beautiful sunshine here with a slight frost sunshine

Gally Sat 06-Apr-13 07:45:45

Good morning! Just home and woke up, not to to hot sun and the sound of the Kookaburra and Indian mynah bird but, nevertheless, to sun but also frost and no bird sounds - sensible things probably staying indoors keeping warm as am I (under 2 duvets) hmm

Bags Sat 06-Apr-13 07:30:42

Good morning from an ice cold sky, clear as a whistle except for lenticular clouds above the hills. Outside work today methinks.
