I saw them a couple of years ago and sang along and waved my arms with the rest of them. It was fantastic. Chas's daughter also sang and joined in with the group and she was good too. The son of one of them plays the drums now - at least he did on this particular occasion. DH bought us tickets for a treat and it lived up to expectations - better in fact as I did wonder what they'd be like as they are our age smile

I am sure that one of them lives not far from my home town. They sometimes play at a garden centre for fundraising. Missed them last time as I was away for the weekend. I do like their music and enthusiasm.

I'm sorry to say their music never made it over the pond but I have seen several u-tube videos of them singing one of them the rabbit song. Before I had googled them,I had seen Catherine Tate as Nan,singing it on one of her shows.Very catchy clever song.I bet youngsters got a kick out of it.

Was Mick 'The Hat' Burt there on drums still? I played with Mick in a group in the early sixties for a short while - he was excellent.

I always enjoyed Chas & Dave - under all the North London breeziness there is solid musicianship.

I think one of them did stop performing when his wife died, so he would be feeling pretty much how you were, Frank [if that's a tiny bit of comfort to you in some way]. They are very much respected within the music industry, and I bet they put on a very good show.

They are performing and very much alive but I have heard this may be their last tour.
They have got to get some retirement money together.
They were at the Birmingham Town Hall.
I would not be surprised if they are not much older than me and I am still officially working age.

Are they still alive performing?

If any other Gransnetters have the opportunity to see them I would recommend going.
It took me back to the 70's when I was working in London and I saw them a few times in various London pubs.
The only sadness I had was my late wife was with me at that time.
